You are absolutely reading too much into it. If any talent was going to step into that particular quagmire, I very much doubt it would be this goofy goober.
I cant judge Jurard obviously but Ruzes are 100% worth. His storytelling and voice acting are amazing. He started strong but has been improving exponentally every month. Some day youll be able to listen to them, they will all be there waiting. And the longer you wait the more youll get!
Couldn’t attend but I can’t believe they actually did it. This was supposed to be a silly song in Tavi’s membership yet they went beyond expectations. Tavi by treating its creation seriously (ok, the lyrics not as much), and Banchou by singing it with Tavi. Wonder if they’d release it for free.
I think Tavi said he will be releasing it publicly soon. When Tavi said “bad news” in yesterday’s stream, I thought the event management didn’t allow it to be performed considering it’s a joke song with the title equivalent of the gay lingo for “Small pp” lol. I’m happy they got to debut it at the con in the end.
Tavi said in the Parasocial stream he’s going to release the Jutai song after he releases his first original song whenever that is if he’s currently working on it or it’s still in pre-production.. He doesn’t want the Jutai song to be his first orisong.
Okay I’ll admit it, I’m one of those people who dropped GB in his early debut because he was too BFE and not fitting StarsEN’s “brotuber” vibes and stuffs, yeah I know I’m gonna be downvoted for this. Recently I watched his drawing streams bc youtube fed me with autoplay and he was quite chill and interactive guy so I want to give him a try.
What are his usual streams like? I know he’s a good gamer, have seen his gameplays and he’s pretty skilled but I saw Bubbies say he doesn’t finish his games. He said on debut he wants to creative streams like drawing and cooking but I don’t know the frequency of those streams. I’m a bit worried about the inconsistency many anons pointed out here, but my oshis are already streaming every day or doing endurances, both from hololive and stars side, so even if his streaming days are inconsistent it won’t be much of a problem for me. I can just watch him on the sidelines. I care about the streaming contents though.
Another thing is how affectionate, or “BFE” he is? He had been streaming for a while so initial impression can change, right? If he is too affectionate it’s not really my thing, and if his BFE stuff is overriding all other contents it would be a turnoff for me.
Also how is his fandom like? I’ve seen, again, anons criticizing Bubbies for being notoriously parasocial, but is it only an issue among BNFs or dedicated fandom spaces or are they generally like that? Like unmanaged chat, etc, Since he does BFE I expect some of parasocialism for granted, but I’ve seen some of hololive’s GFE-oriented fandoms being surprisingly respectful and closely knit in a good way so I want to have hope about that and not just judge the book by its cover.
Seeing this comment and the replies to it confused me, are these from the same page which criticized Gibby for being unprofessional and solely relying on parasocialism by playing a soft vulnerable boy card instead of putting effort on his contents? Or did he change that much in a course of a few weeks?
GB critique comment chains have been getting reported/deleted whenever they pop up in recent weeks so the general tone of staying conversation about him has had to shift
You’re assuming these are the same people. There was fair critique when he started out, but even then there was more of a focus on his direction than whatever keeps getting repeated here like a broken record. For a while, there really wasn’t anything new to say about him, and most people who disliked what he was serving just stopped watching him. Some people watched him casually when the stream had potential to be good. Why would anyone with low/no investment in him want to engage with the obsessive bad-faith criticism?
I was originally disappointed in Gibby’s direction near debut, especially when he showed so much potential in his first week. I am pleased that he’s finally going in a direction that showcases what people saw in him early on. This seems to be a common sentiment among people who weren’t heavily engaged in his content.
Im the 4:01 pm anon, and no, for me. I would say in his early stuff he was a bit akaward, all over the place and very lacking in directive / structure, yes, but what you said about i really don’t see it. To me its greatly exaggerated. I would say he evolved in at least since 6-5 months ago at the minimum. But most bubbies aren’t here. I go here for irl updates on others. I follow everyone so i don’t keep up much. His content is way more chilled out than earlier streams. Like it’s been a while since a crazy stream, and even then it’s stuctured in directions. To me its no different than anyone else streams in general.
I watch him frequently and he honestly evolved a ton, and found his footing, he is very fun and silly and vibes with Armis very well !! For his content, cooking streams are fun and a good learning experience, his drawing stream are also very interesting to learn about his artistic sense. The big bubby/bit-gimmicky streams are very funny and crazy. And most of his streams are just playing beloved games, nerding out on them, discussing various topic in a cosy casual way with the bubbies. Bubbies really have grown and calmed down, founding their founding, way more relaxed, common vtuber playful banter but very appreciative of the nice cosy ambiance. The focus is always on the game and gibby himself. He has a good rhythm of games, while not always finishing games, it bring varied schedules and also fits his more longplay/speedrunning ways. And on the BFE, it really chilled out, I think he finally got a better grasp on it. It’s true at first he didn’t know how to drive his character, but now , I personally think he found the equilibrium between “him”, “the vibes he wants” and “experimentation”. He himself accepted being more a goofball and a silly dude but with a nice warm demeanor, the vibes he wants of being nicely affectionate, in a structured way, with genuine appreciation for fans and having a good space, and the experimentation with using his artistic skills, video skills and trying to have fun playing up him “character” to try different medium and ideas in voice content and role-play.
take with a grain of salt b/c i don’t watch him all the time, but i do think his chat is a lot better nowadays (compared to the early days, more chill and less “pick me” behavior)
he’s started to do more drawing streams, roughly once a week when he is streaming – cooking streams are not very frequent but they’re fun (he records himself and then streams some commentary with the footage, which is a fun way to present the cooking imo. including instructions and ingredient lists)
content-wise i think he’s been pretty consistent (retro games are just zatsus while he speedruns, but i would generally agree on him not finishing games too much; then drawing and occasional cooking streams)
i don’t care for BFE either, but my impression of him is that he’s affectionate, but not necessarily BFE (any BFE (like his birthday stream) felt more funny to me than a serious rp, might be different for those in a higher tier??)
i think, at this point, most of the anon criticism here is because of the BNFs, but i also don’t follow drama much so i could be wrong here lmao
I catch him sometimes casually and don’t ever have an issue enjoying his content. If you just want to watch occasionally and not make him your oshi, I don’t think any of that stuff really matters. He is affectionate with chat but it’s generally more wine aunt than “boyfriend” energy, from what I’ve seen
They all seem like really good friends but sometimes I feel like gibby feels a teeny bit distanced from them just cause he doesn’t have as many collabs with the rest of them
Ruze called himself a dim candle overshadowed by the blaze of the ruzaders’ skill and creativity, but really he’s the spark that kindled this inferno of love and appreciation. A bag of hot air that reignited the banked firepit of my desire to create, not just for him but for all the things that bring me joy. He’s reminded me that it’s ok to have whimsy and to do things because I want to. He’s a lodestar and I feel so blessed to know him.
I’m not brave enough to say any of this in public. All I want is to support him, for him to be happy and comfortable while he reaches for his dreams. Bwuheuhwuh.
I’m reading too deeply into this but crushing a WATERMELON on THIS day feels like it means something.
