Idk about Ruze history with RTS game. but when Shinri was streaming the game, he did pop out few times commenting about the game and even stay late on the last SC2 stream to comment again. Shinri was happy that some boys interested with it
They’re human and will slip up from time to time. “Literally on stream” doesn’t mean much when Bettel mentioned a few types of shops near his place on stream, and someone used that to figure out where he lives.
at 55:08 on shinri’s stream “you may not have any fries felix”. he already spoke about his brother coming over and him getting ruze wendy’s so it was a logical assumption. i just think it’s interesting that’s all
Depending on how much of a delay between his being scouted and his announcing he’d be ceasing activity on Lark for a while, it’s possible that one of his Twitter threads about content creation got the attention of someone in management, who then went to watch some of his Twitch streams.
Showing a proficiency for the behind-the-scenes planning and technical understanding necessary to do the work would’ve been like a cherry on top of his entertaining performance.
Ex. One of his Tweets about trying to prevent bot-based hate raids popped off and got like, 100k+ views 2 months before he announced his hiatus. Less than a week before he announced he was going to take a hiatus soon, another of his Tweet threads specifically about variety streaming got 4k+. Which isn’t a ton on Twitter in general, but is respectable for a small-scale indie dude.
It’s funny when people see him say it and still try to deny it. You think cover would let him keep this up (and say it multiple times) if he was lying about their hiring practices?
I thought the new og song is good but I’m quite shock a lot (at least some ppl here and the other forum) of armada doesn’t really have a good feelings about it. but regardless of that I think the boys has improved, hopefully they get more original songs thou that would be physically and financially taxing.
The boys grew so much! The vocals are fun and the performance, the energy, is there. I do like the song but I wish the composer/arranger had understood Tavi’s suggestions and added some actual pizazz to the base and rhythm.
Yeah, I’m with you! Maybe it’s because I really like jazz even when it gets messy, but I think “Take’em Down” has to be one of my favorite Holopro songs to date! The harmonies and the whole rock-meets-swing jazz just scratches me in the best way.
Probably the only complaint I have is Gibby not having enough lines or his voice being overpowered in some parts especially when Tavi sings with or after him (please do not misread this as Tavi hate, it is not, I love him too). I do get that MAYBE it’s so that it adds more “oomph” to Gibby’s lines, though it would had been nice for him to have more solos, especially when he’s the opening singer.
I would had loved if the line “and carve out a new generation” was an ACTUAL Gibby solo, or at least have him open with “We’ll be the last ones standing” instead since it’s probably more suited to his smooth voice, and THEN transition to a duet of him and Tavi on the former line, followed by Tavi singing “full of power and ambition” as a solo. The reverse works well too, with something closer to what we have now but Gibby sings the “full of power and ambition” part instead.
Other than that? “Take’em Down” is such a bop, 10/10 I wanna hear my kamioshi sing more. Somebody please find him a vocal coach that understands his “I sound like eight different people” dilemma.
* Small correction since I can no longer edit the original reply, what I meant to say was “I do get that MAYBE it’s so that it adds more “oomph” to some of Gibby’s lines”
Ruze mentioned that his father used to belt him. Although the situation was framed in a funny manner, it’s kinda sad in reality. His attitude had similar vibes with Vesper where they didn’t have a good relationship with their physically violent dad.
Please don’t assume. He’s spoken quite fondly about his dad. And he did also say afterwards that his parents had stopped by the time he had his younger brother.
Corporal punishment was pretty normal back in the day. La chancla might be a meme but honestly the slipper or the belt has taught many of us to not be fucking idiots.
It’s actually insane how normalized it was even just 20 years ago. But I would put money down that most people over 25 experienced corporal punishment with a belt at least once
Sucks, man. But unfortunately not as uncommon as you’d hope. Literally millions (over 4 million in 2022) of child mistreatment or abuse reports every year in the US. And that’s just the stuff that gets reported.
I love Octavio so much. What a little creature

I’m glad to see Ruze joining in with Shinri for a Starcraft collab.

not sure if this was already agreed upon here but if anyone had anymore doubts that ruze was scouted https://youtu.be/13zzFOBBSYs?si=p9BsUzDaRfv4eemR i feel like this basically confirms it.

I’m curious how he was discovered by cover staff anyway, for his pl viewers was there a famous clip of him like that “captain look” meme
