HoloJustice recently did a Liar’s bar collab and Liz is a VA. And it’s not just her. Some of HoloEN talents such as Nerissa, Calli and Kiara (who are both anti-AI art) also played this game before. Same goes with JP boys and girls who played this game. So yeah, be disappointed in all of them for playing it. Maybe Cover shouldn’t get the perms but if you’ve read Yagoo’s opinion on AI, you know where he stands.

I don’t ship them personally, but I can see why someone might. Octavio being the shorter, younger-looking one but being way more competent and talking about creeping on him like in the infamous “I was watching through a hole in the wall” moment, etc. kind of sparks something, but yeah, ships are generally less appealing to me when the talents play into them. Granted, they only really play into it for the meme.

Also so that their heights don’t conflict when they interact with objects or someone else who is actually that height. Like Ruze was the same height as Axel, but from Axel’s 3D you can tell he’s actually that tall from how he moves and interacts with his surroundings/people. So if Ruze’s model height was unchanged and he did stuff with Axel in 3D, you’ll probably see Axel clearly looking downward at him and not eye-to-eye or if he puts his hand on Ruze’s shoulder but his model’s hand is floating higher up. Or if he gets to interact with noted giant Oga lmao.
It’s never perfect obviously. You still get weird shit like Ina and Flayon clearly being taller than their models, but if they can adjust it to make it more in line with the talent, they will.

Based on Hakka’s nerf, I don’t think shoes are supposed to be included for anyone’s height. Bettel went 176 →173 →180. 7cm is a reasonable height for high heels, but it’d just neutralize the heels in his design. Them somehow adding shoes in as part of his height would be very max luck jester of them. (Might also explain why Ruze’s nerf is so severe…stompy boots tall)Tangent: talents seem to have to wear high heels in the studio if their design has them based on how girls with stilettos move (Calli, Ollie’s new 3D outfit), but platforms don’t change the angle of your foot. I wonder if Hakka’s 174cm pre-nerf height was close-ish to his real height and his character height was changed to 160cm so he wouldn’t have to wear big ass platforms in the studio.

They now can have official releases of Western covers from big companies too, thanks to Lizzie from HoloJustice! But I think perms work a whole lot differently and is probs a lot more expensive, plus they can only release them as songs without music videos. The only times they can have MVs for English covers are when they either cover English songs by indie artists like how Bettel is able to cover two songs by Voltaire, or they cover English songs from games that they have perms for like Tavi’s cover of “No Promises To Keep” from FFVII Rebirth and Ruze’s “I Am… All Of Me” from Shadow The Hedgehog.

tbf, Tavi doesn’t seem to be fully aware of what’s going on unless it’s related to gaming news. I do remember he announced on his previous Octalks about the Flappy Bird news but he didn’t know about the crypto scam part and the original creator of the game disowning it until he was informed by chat about it.
Not to mention, I only know about the Apt song having zionist supporters on this site only. And any mainstream news about this song is all about being performed at the MAMAs recently. I apologize beforehand for bringing up an issue that may get some folks upset, but as someone who grew up witnessing the ongoing tragedy for YEARS being reported on TV even before 2023 (that kind of news is basically a yearly event where I live, and it would ALWAYS happen at around Ramadhan too because the attacks would be at its worst during a time when people are literally fasting for a month), I feel like I need to bring this up.
I get the frustration and honestly I agree, but I’ve learned that sometimes entertainers are just… that, really. Entertainers. Not activists, not politicians, not philantrophists, just… entertainers. Not all of them are going to bring up certain topics, and pretty sure that a lot of times, especially when they’re tied to corporate, they really aren’t allowed to bring up certain topics like politics and ongoing tragedies explicitly. Even when fans like us bring this up, there might be nothing that they, the talents, can do unless management allows them to actually speak up. And knowing how strict Cover Corp can be, Tavi speaking up (IF he ever chooses to) is going to be unlikely.
I also wanna add something when it comes to activisim or spreading a message in general: not everyone is going to listen, not everyone is going to agree, and those who do end up listening and agreeing might take a while to show up, IF they choose to show up. The fact that you’ve chosen to speak up and do your part like, for instance, boycotting is already excellent, so no need to beat yourself up over it when you see other folksーincluding those who you look up toーnot doing the same. Remember that entertainers are still human beings with their own set of opinions, and be sure to have a level of detachment because even the biggest superstars are still as mortal as you and me.
Or perhaps they are also doing their part, but you can’t see that due to reasons like them wanting/having to be quiet or secretive about their support to your cause (which they actually care about, in this case!) for whatever reason. Activism comes in different forms, some big and some small. Maybe they’ve started boycotting certain brands or they’d donated in the past but chose not to talk about it, and chances are we probably would never know.
Tl;dr, when it comes to activism as someone participating in fandoms, having a level of detachment from content creators helps. Just remember to do your part.

Just wanna recommend an album by The Ting-Tings called “We Started Nothing” for those who KINDA like “APT” but is lowkey highkey sick and tired of it even if the pre-chorus hook is addicting. Emote nonnies this isn’t bait. This is true. While PH do cover news about this, they focus more on other issues that are closer to the region. Local tv channels don’t really list of celebrities who are zionists & I doubt either of the PH boys are aware of this.

I assume K-pop cover perms will be similar, if not the same, as more mainstream EN song perms starting with ERB’s cover of Blackbird and Nerissa’s cover of Sabrina Carpenter’s Espresso.
