He has described himself as male in the past (as recently as 2 years ago). He’s always been a big proponent of defying gender norms though.

Randon’s difficult family background taught him to isolate from people. He has no ill-will or resentment. Just that he didn’t want to bother people, and could get lost in his own world. That’s really sad to hear. I just hope that his friends say hi to him from time to time, and not forget he exists.

Can a Randonnite give the QRD on his bg? I’m not looking for his life story or anything like that since it’d be creepy to ask for that spoonfed, but I’ve always been curious since it felt like the case when he was Vesper. I’ve only heard his various insane family stories.

Dad was extremely abusive (possible malignant narcissist from what I can gather), and his older sister basically took on the role of being his mother figure to him and his little brother.
He doesn’t mention his dad at all anymore and only refers to his mom, sister and brother as his family so he’s probably no contact with him. You can only really hear stuff about his family in depth from pre holostars Randon VODs.
its not an excuse for anything he’s done that’s hurt others at all, but it explains a lot about unpleasant behaviors he’s presented.

His father also used to beat Randon over everything that was perceived ‘wrong’ like being a left-hander. Yes being left handed was considered a crime.
Sister Neuring was the one who taught Randon to write right handed by rewarding him with cookies whenever he wrote right-handed, ending one reason to beat Randon over. There were still many other reasons his father used as reasons to beat, but his sister at least saved him from one.
