A little serious talk. Randon said that he reached a zen state of peace accepting that his life is over, so even when the worst turns happened he just go “okay moving on”. Caspurr says he’s reaching that point too.
Is it healthy? These guys are not even past 40, the halfway point for most humans. I personally think it’s not great because they’re still comparatively young to actual old people like 70 years old.

Part of it is that we spend 3/4ths of our lives working shitty jobs and the 1/4th we aren’t working is spent driving, showering, eating, sleeping, and stressing over bills or relationships or whatever else. Not a surprise that most people in their 30s and 40s just don’t have visions or aspirations past their relatively comfortable and financially secure spots in life and would be fine dying tomorrow. Pretty much everyone my age I’ve talked to feels the same. Is it healthy? No probably not, but the world we live in doesn’t exactly foster good mental health or coping skills. It’s better than being actively suicidal, at the very least.

the context was not about the humble life and not being famous though. It’s more like that all their chances are gone and they’re just waiting to pass away eventually. Lots of people believe the hard limit of success was before 30.

Midlife crisis. I am not shocked for Randon, but I hope he talks to his therapist about this. His life has always been challenging, and leaving his dream job in Holostars must weigh heavily on him too. I hope that being around the Randonnites brings him some comfort and happiness.

well, it’s definitely not healthy, but it is unfortunately pretty normal for some people to feel that way around their 30th and 40th birthdays in particular. hell, my own dad felt a similar way when he was 30, started living a more daredevil life to cope, and he’s in his 70s and still kicking now lmao
