I just kinda hate the inconsistency. I know being his fan since when Magni debuted that he has this whole back and forth pulley system of self doubt and trying something new that he does constantly and most likely axing it and this is probably just one of those moments but it’s just a bit frustrating that everything changes at the drop of a pin hat with no constant.

Well he did say it wouldn’t be an overnight change and the transition to Twitch will happen a bit further down the line, but it is still shocking to hear. He always has these big come to jesus moments every few months or so and I get it bc when I get manic I wanna quit my job and shave my head and throw away all my stuff. Not saying that’s the motivation behind his current decisions and I’m sure he’s put at least a bit of thought into his future as a vtuber but I just can’t say I fully understand what’s going on in his mind.

I feel it was the song (which is very good and he is very proud of) not making the impact he desired. I feel he had some hope to go a bit viral, but also going viral nowadays is…requires more effort, and not investing on TikTok or Bilili if you are reaching the other way it’s….not very economically savvy
That amounted with the rent hike, etc, I can see him why he is panicking a bit and taking the network route. Especially, nowadays on “creator” Twitter was been a lot of talk on how you depend on Network for growth…which yes, seems to be true. You want to be featured on the Twitch Reel nowadays but it’s an uphill battle with how much Twitch seems to hate Vtubers.
I guess it has to do with the fact that Twitch want to become the next “Hollywood” especially since a lot of influencers are ranking upper i.e Markiplier getting series and movies, so they probably want studios and if Vtubers become popular that’s not something they can (boomer brain) sell, they want to sell to normies and Vtubers go against that grain.

Yeah, I assume it’ll be closer to his actual model debut by his real mama and he might double stream the debut that’s it but it’s still a bit late especially considering his current audience. I don’t doubt that he’s thought about his future as Caspurr and this was probably in his opinion the best option for him to continue on but the whole guessing game of will this be an actual thing he sticks too is a bit bothersome.

I think this lack of constancy was actually why he did as well as he did as Magni. Because while not necessarily an ideal fit, Cover was providing him with management and some semblance of structure.

Its only been a few streams with him double streaming my thoughts are its about the numbers and his friends and other vtubers not taking him seriously because of his low twitch viewers. You could have five hundred viewers on youtube but if your friends see you with less than fifty viewers on twitch they will laugh at you because thats where they all are if he makes the move to twitch he might have a few hundred.

I wanna support him but I just don’t understand this obsession with rejecting everything related to Magni Dezmond. Whether he likes it or not, a vast majority of the success he’s received as Caspurr comes from Magni. Trying to run away from everything to do with Magni is counterproductive. He wants to have his cake and eat it too. He wants success to do this full-time but he wants to move to a platform that actively punishes indie vtubers. He wants his holo audience but wants nothing to do with his old life. He wants to have his cheeky references and simultaneously nuke them and pretend he was never corpo. He wants Dokibird’s post-corp success but doesn’t want to understand the difference between Magni Dezmond and Selen Tatsuki. I get that this move is in an attempt to live as his most authentic self but he’s gonna shoot himself in the foot. And he knows that, he pretty much said so. Tbh he hasn’t even tried to grow as Caspurr on youtube, he put out an orisong but where’s the self promotion, where’s the shorts with a billion hashtags, where’s the actual interaction with other indies besides Randon? He wants to live the life of an indie but doesn’t want to cope with how hard that’s really going to be. He has a good thing going for him, average 200-300 ccv as a brand new indie without even an official model are amazing numbers. If he actually knew how to cultivate a brand he could do something really good here, but he wants to “live authentically” I guess. Sorry this rant is so messy and all over the place. I really love what this guy does, I watched him back before he was Magni, and I wanna see him grow but he just. Shoots himself in the foot. Constantly.

I haven’t watched as much of his newer streams as a lot of other folks here seemingly have, but the impression I got is that he’s not interested in crushing it on the numbers. He seems more concerned with doing his own thing, and wants to keep doing that as much as he can while maintaining a sustainable income. Struck me as the kind of dude who’d settle for being a B or C-tier in the eyes of the general public if he and his circle of fans were proud of the creative content he puts out.

But switching to twitch will lower his income no? Youtube gives a 70/30 cut while twitch gives a 50/50 cut to affiliates and partners that dont meet a certain threshold.

it’s strange because he very much used to be a numbers guy. maybe not as much in holostars but as Lando he unlisted underperforming videos and talked quite a bit about numbers. it’s part of why a lot of people were shocked when he joined holostars since everyone knows that’s not where the numbers are at. it seems he took some of that to heart and has stopped stressing about it. that being said, he’s talked recently about how he’s on the cusp of being able to do vtubing full time and even in this stream mentioned with his rent going up he’s relying on the double income from both yt and twitch for the time being, so numbers clearly mean SOMETHING to him. it’s just a bit contradictory.

if i were him, i’d be putting most of my focus into the professor lando gig since that’s where most of his subs/ad revenue/sponsorship money comes from. he needs to find a way to balance out all these projects at once instead of taking on a million different things then burning out.

I was always curious why he didn’t just make a vtuber model of his professor persona and keep it all on the same channel and switch between 2D and what he used to do. Vtubing is just a medium to deliver content, there are no rules saying you have to make a new persona and start from scratch

while I understand the pursuit of progress and getting over hangups about corpo life, Twitch is where growth goes to die and him getting a handful of collabs with other indies isn’t going to change much. maybe a year from now he’ll have more subs than Mousey and a massive amount of success and nobody will even remember he was in holostars anymore but I just don’t see it.

It’s hard to be someone like mouse because she has built her brand for years and years and had help from a established youtuber as well. At best he’s like one of the mid to large tier indies in a year or so if he gets really lucky with tiktok or youtube shorts and or youtube edited content which is how most indies blow up now. Its hard for vtubers on twitch and you will get more collab opportunities but the market is oversaturated as hell. I wish him all the best and if this is great for his growth ill eat my shoe, but he’s really gonna have to work for it.

He should have done it since the beginning. When he did his soft debut, there were a lot of skepticism even from casual viewers who saw him trying to be Doki even though his departure was different from hers. Can’t blame them into thinking that he probably missed being in Holostars. Anyway, at least, Caspurr realizes it and I guess, he’s on the verge on moving on from his old persona which should be.

he wants to become a proper indie vtuber, lose all the references to magni, and make the move from yt to twitch. not a banishing but a moving away from the youtube japanese corpo style of having “menshi” and “zatsudan” style streams, waiting rooms, etc. hopefully it serves him well because he’s at his best when happy and thriving in creation, if the change in format allows him to spread out and be more successful, all the best to him. he also mentioned feeling lonely and separate from the indie communities, which is true. if you’re not part of a big MCM or signed onto a corp, yt indietubers just get buried.

It was needed for him to grow as an indie tbh. All of the successful ex corpo done vtubers and im including Randon in this, have barely any branding related to their old persona or if they do it’s negligible and the ones that do reference frequently for viral twitter moments don’t have those fans stay long term (no hate at all). I hope he’s making this decision for his growth and himself and that he’s happy with it. Wish him the best! I do wonder why he’s doing this all of a sudden though.

Idk about you but he did organize the weremag collab and judge magni sketch back when he was Magni.
Though I agree with the other anon up there. With the exception of the Ligma boys who are not vtubers, the only vtuber friends he’s close to are Randon and the Tempus boys. Yeah, he and Ironmouse followed each other both as Magni and Professor Lando but it seems Ironmouse didn’t follow him in his Caspurr account. Maybe, she doesn’t know about it I guess?
There also are several indie vtubers who followed him and commented on his tweets and videos. He could start from there.

Unfortunately there’s really no good outcome if he were to do this. He doesn’t even mention Connor by name on stream as Caspurr, and he definitely is trying to make it without relying on those connections.
One of the things he said in the NY return stream was how sad it makes him to see people actually hoping they’d hear his voice in the background of the boys streaming, saying it will absolutely never happen. That’s a pretty definitive statement on his part and I think it’s reasonable to extend that to collabing. It will never happen, and it’s better that way.

Tbh I feel like nobody really cares enough to cause trouble over it anymore. After that zatsu from last month anyone who felt so bothered as to hatefollow him mostly moved on, at least as far as I can tell. And people who were on the fence either started following him completely or just lost interest. But I can imagine after all the drama from the past couple of months coming to a head he must be tired of dealing with Tempus drama and is completely fine with just playing with them and talking to them off-stream.
