I actually dropped him earlier this month when he dropped another bout of menhera on us. I feel bad for it, but his audience can’t cure his bipolar, and the more he goes through these wild manic and depressive fits and lashes it all out on his fans, the less I’m able to deal with it whilst also taking care of my own mental. Cancelled my subs and unfollowed for the last time, my resolution in 2025 is no contact with this guy, I wish him well but he’s just a destructive presence in my life and I can’t improve him, especially when he refuses to improve himself.

Its just a continual cycle that wears you down, fans even joke about him being on his period again when he goes through something every other month. The ups are high and fun but the downs are pretty low and miserable, and eventually most people just hit a low with him where they don’t wanna deal with the low anymore. He pushed extremely hard through October to put out MVs, his birthday events, and the Halloween special, peaking in manic energy just after his birthday when he suddenly decided to leave youtube, go all in on twitch and get affiliate/partner, his sleep schedule got very fucked up and he started staying up til small hours of the morning and streaming at weird hours, doing a bathtub twitter space, oversharing on the audience. Then early Nov he went on the Disney trip with Connor and the boys and came back pretty drained and low, and just banked his time playing farming slop and random games throughout Nov. He did another high energy event stream for thanksgiving and then in early Dec went back into bad sleep, cancelling streams, changing up schedules on the fly, peaking on the menshi stream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HeaBrYj5uME where he dumped a buttload of grievances and loops on the audience again about not growing numbers fast enough, struggling with finances, etc. The next day he was physically ill with a cold and did a few miserable streams over the week before going away for his holiday party weekend with Connor and the boys. Came back pretty drained and just spent a couple weeks doing low energy streams and games, before launching back into the high energy bombastic christmas special, and then immediately after dropping this manic bomb about wanting to switch his life up, move to another country and change up careers AGAIN. There’s just no stability with this guy, as soon as he starts talking about “scrolling tiktok on my phone until 4am”, you see the red flags of another event coming and you either ride it out or take a break. I had to take breaks from him so often that I just decided this would be my final break and permanent going into the new year.
*And when I’m using terms like manic and high/low, it is based on Professor Lando streams where he specifically referred to himself as having manic breakdowns, starting in college and coming through to the present day, he uses the word manic to describe himself and his behavior. I’m not armchair diagnosing.

Oh, that’s really bad. I have bipolar 2, and that does track if it’s a proper diagnosis. If he’s actually not medicated with a mood stabilizer (not an SSRI, those often make it worse and can induce rapid cycling), that’s insanely dangerous, as episodes only get worse with each subsequent one. The instability and stress of content creation can also induce more episodes.
Deciding to make sudden life changes like moving to a foreign country during manic bursts should definitely be a wake up call. He may feel like he has a grip on it now, but speaking from experience, as episodes get worse, you’ll lose control even if you’re self-aware in the moment. And you end up as a passenger watching yourself make bad choices in real time.
It’s possible that he doesn’t want to get help for it because bipolar manic episodes end up producing REALLY good shit, and you lose that “spark” when things are balanced out. However, there comes a time when that isn’t work it anymore. It’s 100% possible to readjust your process to accommodate for it, but it’s definitely a tough time where you feel like a big chunk of yourself is missing. My quality of work is actually better now because I’m taking the time to learn a bunch of foundational stuff that I skipped before to pump out projects.
If you want a bad example of an artist going off the deep end, look at Kanye West. No one can get him to take his meds after his mom died. Hard to believe, but the man was once lucid and had critical thinking skills about societal issues. Now he’s….that.

At this point there’s basically an enclave of content creators who have moved to Japan from multiple countries across Europe plus the US. Many of them collaborate, several are managed by GeeXPlus (which is owned by BookWalker, which is owned by Kadokawa).
They all have varying levels of language proficiency because most of them live around the most English-friendly city in the country, and they’re being facilitated by JP-fluent managers and associates. A lot of them are passionate about aspects of Japanese pop culture.
If the below comments are accurate, Lando might be angling to work more closely with that cluster of creatives because he’s on friendly terms with some of them.

The difference is is that all 3 Trash Taste guys were content creators for years prior to TT even being a thing. And they basically still do the same content that they did before on their own channels with additional streaming (especially Connor). TT also didn’t start popular, where they have their own fancy office and can hold panels and do big elaborate videos: they started in a super cramped ass room they rented for a year and worked at it.
PewDiePie is incomparable as the guy who at one point had the most subbed YouTube channel ever and did content for 10+ years. He can basically do whatever at this point, so he’s mostly focused on chiller videos and his family.
Lando, I’m pretty certain, just sees the success and doesn’t get that he has to actually grind for it and be consistent. He can’t keep changing his mind every 6 months just because his numberfagging isn’t satisfied.
