I have a question for starmin fans. I’ve been seeing recommendations for other JP male vtubing groups and I’m shocked at their numbers on covers and regular streams because they do so well. Is there a reason the senpais don’t get that same recognition? Is Holostars just a smaller community? What’s the general opinion on the JP side for the Holostars senpais and the brand?
I’ve been wondering about the same thing too. At first I thought it’s the idol thing, but in Rikka’s last Vtuber Singer event, one of the contestants is an idol too and their group is quite popular. There’s also things like EN Stars and Idolish7 (male idol games), which are also popular. So I don’t think it’s that. So what is it? I mean, our boys are good at games, fun and talented, they really deserve more (’へ’)
Holostars has a branding issue. There is this JP video from a year ago comparing clips from Nijisanji and Holostars and a lot of the comments are saying they didn’t know Holostars (or only heard of it) and this was their first time being introduced.
Oh wow, it’s strange to me that they have such a huge brand behind them but they’re just not known. I don’t know anything about JP Nijisanji except that they perform better than the EN side (I think). I hope all these new collabs with big brands help push the boys more, I wonder what else could be done?
this is just my speculation but imo the holo- branding is part of the issue. the general public associates the hololive name with the girls only. any content that has a chance of going viral dies midway because the algorithm thinks the girls audiences are an adjacent audience to suggest it to (since they’re both holo) but they aren’t interested in male vtubers. it’s possible if the boys weren’t branded as *holo*stars or connected with cover, they would do better
Pls Starmins, I entrust to you the sharing of Gamma’s PL here if he ever becomes active again. I just would like to hear him again, tho I know that he won’t be able to Collab with the others anymore, my only relief is to know hat he’s doing fine.
or maybe you can write a digital letter and ask a JP moots or someone you know in JP to print it and send it to cover, someone i know did that with magves and its so much faster
