for any one planning to post there, make sure you check the sidebar and are in the stars feeds. the app defaults to the girls chat feed and doesn’t let you set a default landing page so there’s some stars fans accidentally posting in the wrong channels
Other than being able to easily see official news and filter out everything unrelated to your oshis, it seems to lack a lot of functionality that other social media sites have. Maybe I am dumdum but I can’t even check out others’ profiles. It doesn’t look like the talents post there either.
The holostars section also has fewer channels (aka subforums) than hololive which is a bit weird. I think these means some channels are for all of holopro despite being under the hololive section? Like there’s only one channel for clips in the whole app and there’s already a guy trying to call out holostars posts there (even though like I said it’s super easy to filter). You can also like things multiple times which seems dumb and abusable.
Still better than hololive reddit lmao. Even the people protesting holostars posts are more polite there, at least until antis figure out how to brigade here too. The clear separation and having nothing outside holo makes it seem like a great place for tribalists and antis but hopefully moderation prevents it from being another shithole.
honestly you didn’t sound harsh at all i asked other people who got the app and they said the same things, the lack of being able to add and/or follow people and not being able to view profiles makes it unappealing for them to use. i’m hoping they add those features in the future since i’d like to actually be part of the community in some way :’)
I would like to use it more since it is technically the positive moderated version of this site lmao, however, I don’t find it me doing it with a username, at the end of the day I prefer anonymity rather than be under the looking glass of my tempura peers.
I can’t stop thinking about the fact that Armis existed when HQ was still 4 people. Like, just how long do talents stay in predebut? And who decides what group debuts in what order? Is there perhaps a 4th HolostarsEN group being trained right now? So many questions…
cmiiw, I think Fuma or Uyu mentioned that they waited about 2 yrs to finally debut. So when Stars Gen3 debuted, they were already in the simmering in the background
6-8 months of prep seems to be close to the norm, based on when PL accounts go on hiatus before debut.
If HololiveEN has a Project Director, HolostarsEN probably does too. They probably make the decision on debut timing, with upper management having override power.
Definitely possible. StarsJP had four gens debut between June 2019 and March 2022, from Miyabi to UPROAR. If Cover thinks there’s enough demand for it, a similar timetable would place a StarsEN 4th gen debut around May 1, 2025.
Fun fact: Altare actually has one by default! Not a toggle but his closed-mouth smile is :3. It’s especially noticeable when he tilts his head up a bit.
Audience gained from shorts is known not to translate well into regular video/stream audience. The algo similarly does not boost other video forms even if it picks up on your shorts.
Theres different styles of shorts. Rins shorts are highly edited to keep your attention and made for a very young audience. Not all shorts are the same.
it’s more about investment than actual profit when it comes to shorts, i.e marketing. The reason Porcelain Maid, CyYu, Senz, and to a point Amalee became viral was because of TikTok, in fact,I knew some of the boys PLs first on PMs clips on Tiktok than in other platform.
It’s better to see it more as a tool, than a profit source, then again Kobo also makes a lot of her money on TikTok and that’s just clips. Lives can go absolutely crazy and smaller indies are earning a lot with it. However, more importantly it keeps you relevant.
Right. Short-form content for a streamer is just an alternate revenue stream and advertising. Even if it doesn’t get everyone who sees the Short to watch your stream, it increases the number of people who are going to be recommended at least some form of your content.
Was checking the comment on Unchained post and saw one of the gachi comments, but someone finally snap about it. I remember complaining about how childish the gachi/unicorn about they keep targeting the holostars post but I won’t become them and go spam posting “unchained doko?” at live girl post. now that comment might be here reader too and so I want to say Thank You… I don’t dare to comment my problem on the account, don’t have other account too and too lazy to make another one.but you sacrifice yourself to get hated etc. literally Thank You so much for sounding it outloud

thoughts on the holoplus app for those who can use it? The voices would like to know
Report
mfw this place of more moderated than holoplus
Report
Thankfully the boys and the girls section is separated so the Stars section is mostly still wholesome stuff
Report
It is in dire need of real moderation, apparently.
Report
What happened?
Report
It is being spammed with doxes, baitposts, and porn.
Report
wow didnt think their moderation policies could get worse than their handling of the subreddits
Report
More like they thought it will still stay the same as CBT days. full of fans with common sense….
guess not all fans does have the common sense even at official Apps.

The ease of making an account allows for bad actors to brigade.

(comment OP) I didn’t mean to sound so negative. Overall the app is pretty nice if you want a social media only for your holo oshis and nothing else.

I think it’d be awesome to see! I feel like Hakka or Shinri could definitely make some entertaining shorts. Maybe Altare or Flayon, too!
Report
Tavi is hiring clippers to help him edit his shorts
Report
Shinri tried them for a while and quickly found out they weren’t worth the effort.
Report
imo shinri’s content fit regular clips better because his good moments usually have a lot of lead up to them compared to shorts length
