There are some really great singers and musicians in that branch, so I think the possibility of a deal with such a large brand might be a good opportunity for them to reach wider audiences.
The idea of ReGLOSS just being a test case that might lead to more music-centered units arising in other regions of the world was also really neat. Most of the SEA fans I’ve run across online have been pretty cool, and actually really reasonable to the Stars. Her influence is in every gen that has followed her. I think it’s safe to say that no vtuber gen will ever do what Watson Amelia and myth did for vtubing. I’ll continue supporting hololive and holostars
Ame is one of the biggest symbols of what a vtuber can be to meā the impact that vtubing had on her personal welfare, and the way she consequently used that blessing to put good back out into the world. She’s a delight to have had in Holo and I wish her the best in all her future endeavors.
One thing that really hammered home how sorely Ame will be missed was her charity stream where she unveiled the VRchat aquarium project. Not only did she dedicate one of her last streams to charity (fitting since she was also the first in the company to do a charity stream as well), she also made yet another project that found little ways to include talents from all branches of the company and gift that to the community.
It’s something she did so often, whether it was the Worms collab most Tempura are familiar with, or the short lived news show she tried to do that would announce birthdays and anniversaries of both Hololive and Holostars, or the occasional “duets” she would do in her unarchived karaokes where she would play songs other talents had sung that got reuploaded by fans, she always found ways to include others. She was a quiet leader and inclusive in a way that few others, if any, in the company can compare.
Her influence has been felt ever since her debut, but we could all still learn and strive to find our own Ameway. It’s incredible how someone that doesn’t check off many of the boxes that you would think of when you think of idols became one of the brightest lights in the entire scene. Just a reminder for us to keep chasing our goals even if we don’t fit the mold.
The aquarium and the fact that she was so detailed in her planning was a good reminder that she didn’t lose her touch, too. I can’t wait to see what she does going forward.
