Hello everybody, this might not be the right place to post this but I figured I might give it a try.
I am a male vtuber whose been streaming for around a year, I have aspirations for going corpo some day. (I started watching vtubers after seeing the HoloSTARS EN 1 debuts, had no interest in the girls really, but when I saw them I was like wow guys can do this too?! And of course they’re my oshis)
I’ve been working on my singing and post singing content at least once a month. However, I feel like I lack growth as a streamer. I am not quite sure what to do. I’ve tried networking with other guys, and I don’t really collab with females (not entirely oppossed to it I suppose, but it has to make sense? I wouldnt mind not collabing with girls if my audience didn’t want me to but it seems to be a mixed bag when I look around. I would never try to flirt with a female collab partner ever or do any kind of comment like that regardless).
I’m just wondering if people here have any general advice for content they wanna see from male vtubers? There’s really no place where I can ask about this to the target demographic, so I’d be very interested to see. Any advice would be welcomed, from personality, to chat interaction, to games or types of streams you like to watch. And if this is not allowed, I am terribly sorry! Thank you!
i think you’re shooting yourself in the foot by being so meticulous in crafting your image. molding yourself to act a certain way based on market analytics and min-maxing the most popular traits will quickly lead to burnout and will suck the fun out of being a creator.
i know you’ve heard “be yourself” a lot by now but unfortunately it’s true. but it’s not just about being yourself, it’s being the best version of yourself. people love an authentic unique personality but be sure to leave any negativity, insecurity, and toxicity at the door when you start stream. be kind and friendly when interacting with chat and collab partners, that seems obvious but you’d be surprised how many indies give off judgy or rude or “mean girl(/boy)” vibes, and nobody wants to be around that.
i also think you shouldn’t limit yourself from collabs with female vtubers just to chase a potential yume audience. the majority of successful male vtubers i can think of openly collab with women all the time and you’re just keeping yourself from a huge chunk of potential networking opportunities (and even potential friends). as long as you act normal and friendly and don’t do anything creepy then there are only good things that can come from opening up your network to female vtubers
I was just a bit curious to see what people wanna see from content creators at the moment, but I see what you mean. Yeah I don’t wanna change my personality or be someone who I am not, that would be too exhausting. Being myself on stream is what I’ve done from the beginning, and even when talking with other vtubers they mention I come across as very upbeat and cheerful on streams (even if im actually feeling like shit irl), so I am able to separate both, and just use express sad feelings when doing other content like poems or songs.
I dont wanna limit myself from collabing with female vtubers, but its not really my main objective here and what I meant with “if it makes sense” is if its a good collab idea or good collab game, but I mostly feel like I vibe well with guys when I collab with them so thats whats I’ve been doing mostly since they are the ones that approach me.
Thank you so much for the advice and the good luck!
i see what you mean. i think you should apply the “if it makes sense” collab mentality equally to male and female vtubers, but if you genuinely just vibe better with men then i suppose that’s fair.as for what people want to see from content creators, i guess that’s kinda hard to say? i think there are so many different niches out there that are consistently popular with their respective demographics (like art, asmr, just chatting, competitive gaming, etc) so it’s hard to generalize. personally i can’t think of any current “meta” so to speak, that’s broadly popular right now but maybe someone else can help me out here?the best i can say on that topic is to try to think of creative new ways to present yourself and your content to make it stand out from the sea of people doing similar things. that sounds easier said than done for sure but it’s up to you to channel your creativity and figure out how you wanna do it. maybe you do something unique with your model/character design, maybe you take the content you’ve been doing (whether it’s gaming, drawing, idk what you do) and add a crazy twist or challenge to it, idk.if you do end up doing that, you can also try editing those creative streams down into youtube videos or tiktoks/shorts if you have the time. i’ve heard mixed things about whether or not shorts actually bring that many new viewers to your streams but fun and well made shorts can at least help boost your visibility and exposure, even if that new exposure mostly just stays on tiktok/youtube and doesn’t funnel that much into your streams. it’s better than nothing and it will help get your name out there.not sure if this is the response you’re looking for but that’s all i can come up with. if this wasn’t the website it is, i would love to check out your content and give better advice, but alas…
I do produce a certain kind of content that is pretty unique and I consider is what sets me apart from the huge sea of vtubers and I am pretty proud of (I can’t really elaborate into it of course, as to keep my anonimity), but its offline/youtube content, so not really something I can integrate much into streams. I guess I should look into ways of trying to make my streams more interesting, but I’ve been on the verge of burnout recently that I don’t wanna put too much on my plate at the moment, however, its something I will for sure keep in mind!
Making shorts for tiktok and youtube has never been very effective for me, I would get into the grind of trying to push shorts everyday which would burn me out quickly and then have little pay off, so I am now trying to balance it and make it so I only release 1 or 2 shorts a week (which would be like 4-8 a month, something completely doable), because like you said, its better than nothing. Being a one man team for this is really tough sometimes haha but content creation is something I really love.
It’s a red flag to me when male streamers don’t collab with women
All my fav indies do and it’s nice to see how respectful they are.
And for a corpo example look at Hakka he’s always so respectful and supportive, that guy is a walking green flag
Without further context, a flat refusal to collaborate with another content creator based purely on their sex is at least a little prejudicial. That might not be the intent however, and a streamer should still have the freedom to set their own boundaries, but there are still unintended consequences.
In a corporate/idol space, it’s perpetuating the whole unicorn phenomenon.
Eh, I think that’s a pretty dramatic way of looking at it. Especially since we’re talking about an indie who is really just trying to get off the ground at this point.
It’s a red flag to me if someone tweets out something like “Eww, I’ll never collab with female vtubers, they’re all snakes!!” or tells stories on stream about rudely turning people down for collabs to score points with unicorns in their audience or something. However, collabing with the opposite sex as a vtuber has lots of potential baggage attached to it, and I don’t fault people for deciding that they don’t want that added stress.
also fascinating that you had to specify you would never flirt with a female collab partner, like yeah i sure hope you wouldn’t, that’s the bare minimum of not being a creep
Sorry, english is not my first language. I was gonna write “female vtubers” originally but messed up the wording.
I was also specifying because I know there’s viewers from both sides who are against collabs from mixed genders because they feel like it would get flirty between the collabers, I was just trying to clarify I am not into doing that or have my collab partner flirt with me.
I don’t think it needs to go that far anon. In this case it just basically means bully-able, wet cat energy, boy fail. It’s hard to do on purpose though and if u wanna be corpo, can you really see yourself sticking to that persona in the long run?
Your size as a streamer doesn’t really matter when it comes to being hired corpo so I’d just focus on actually cultivating skills that your corpo of choice would like. Such as innovative streams, singing talent, etc. The best corpos don’t choose their hires with the intent of drawing in that hire’s existing audience, by and large they choose hires in order to give worthwhile talent a platform and resources to reach new heights, with the assumption that audiences will naturally come from that.
The reason I worry a bit about size is because I fear maybe that’s a way they “filter” applicants? Like of course they get thousands and thousands of applications, and a lot of them might be just people doing it on a whim and not really serious, so they might wanna have something to like, quickly look at and pass (Which I would assume is the written portion).
I don’t wanna care about numbers much, but in a way it’s like an objective quantifiable thing you can present, I suppose? I don’t think being bigger means you’re better or that smaller streamers can’t be very talented, but maybe I worry too much. I appreciate it!
Size doesn’t matter. If you’ve paid attention, holopro has a retained audience, and live girls will be guaranteed 100K subs/stars boys guaranteed 50K subs within their first little while of streaming, having subs is peanuts taken for granted. What they’re looking for is a hook. Think about the starsEN gens – there’s “The Singer”. “The Entertainer”. “The VA”. “The zatsu king”. “The artist” of the gen. What niche do you have that can set you apart from others and attract people to your content? What will people walk into your stream and want to talk to you about through your audience interaction? What is your main appeal? If it’s personality based, what is your personality – welcoming? calming? aggressive? intellectual? himbo? From all the audition tips that I’ve heard the basic gist is you have to know yourself and be confident in presentation, and also get STRAIGHT to the point in an audition video, so your kick doesn’t read as “waffling on and wasting my time” to the intern reviewing you. If you’re amongst 20 resumes and you stand out as “the blue breathy kindness guy” or “the red angry nerd” or “the purple metal singer” you’ll be likely to be remembered and called back. The pipeline to Cover 3D is also quite tight – both HQ and VG boys have spoken about the fact that within their first month of streaming, management asked them to start planning their showcases and thinking about what they want to put on stage, before they’ve even really got their feet in their 2D skinsuit or gathered a personality and audience. If management can look into your audition tape and instantly see something that they could showcase in the future, like an artist’s animation reel or a musician’s violin recital, it’ll help you. Asking broadly for what EVERYBODY wants out of a male streamer is a mistake in a way – it doesn’t matter what 100 disparate people want to see, it matters what you want to refine within yourself into the sharpest point of talent that you can, and work on that, even if you’re streaming to literally one guy.
I think he gave some good advice, particularly about what you can do to make a video that stands out. He was one of the smaller guys that got in, so I think it’s a perspective worth hearing if you’re worried about numbers.
I was actually watching live when all the boys got together to talk about the audition for FSP Gen 2! I even took notes of things.
I think I might’ve also watched some of that Gale VOD too passively as background noise when working on other stuff, I’ll definitely watch it again and take notes there too. Thank you so much!
Unless you’re going for maybe Niji (which, if you are in this climate, you need the kind of help that people here can’t give you kek), size is provably not a factor when it comes to male corpo hires. Let’s say Holostars and then FSP are the biggest “worthwhile” corpos hiring males– both have hired extremely small vtubers across generations and branches. I don’t think it’s something you need to worry about. I think the only way clout would actully factor in is in nabbing collabs, which would be important for demonstrating that you play well with others. But even then, your following doesn’t matter too much as long as you’re collabing with people you can genuinely get along with.
Niji is the only one I haven’t applied to yet, but it seems a bit tempting.
I understand all the drama surrounding the place, but honestly just being given the opportunity at ANY corpo at this point in my life would make a huge difference.
Obviously if I had the choice to pick any corpo I wanted, I’d pick STARs first, FSP second and Niji last, but sometimes we don’t get much of a choice.
Niji numberfilters HARD so I don’t think I’ll get thru, I just wanna give it a shot and see just to know. However, I do hope people can give those who come out on their next gen a chance. At the end of the day, they’re just trying to be entretainers out there, and males already don’t have many options.
I watch the Ryoma guy from time to time, and he is funny and looks like he is legitimately trying which I can respect.
I’m not supporting an abusive and exploitative company just because people are foolish enough to still try to work with them despite mounds of evidence as to why you shouldn’t lol.
I guess I have some sympathy for the ones going there since I can understand as a fellow content creator how it feels to stagnate or not move forward, and then have 1 door open when all the other ones are closed… I just wish them all the best, really.
Can I please get a brutally honest breakdown of each of the new FSP boy’s personality/vibes for someone who doesn’t have time to sit through all the debuts?
Singer. Speaks Chinese. Wants to dance in 3D. Likes romance anime and really into Vocaloid. Seems energetic and straightforward but not all that bratty.
Altus
Artist. Aussie. Really likes gacha and seems to be into BL (?). Wants to do DnD with the boys.
Ryzar
Singer? Seems easy-going, likes food, travel, hosting events. Has lived in a bunch of countries in Asia so speaks a bunch of languages. Likes kickboxing but also stuff like knitting and baking, girly music taste.
Nayuta
Competitive gamer, hates to lose, very ambitious. Not great at singing but very eager to learn and bold enough to release a cover right away. Speaks fluent Japanese.
Nix
Super chuuni British guy that loves angsty media. Really into Square Enix games. Likes heavy music, particularly metalcore. Can play guitar and wants to do a vtuber band, but doesn’t seem to have much experience singing.
You’re welcome to give your own breakdown. That is what I remembered about each of them after watching their 30-minute debut streams. There’s only so much you’re going to glean about someone from watching him read his likes and dislikes off slides.
They’ve done like a grand total of 1.5 streams dude. If someone seems interesting to you, I’d say just watch his debut and form your own opinion, because no one is going to know what is “too much” pandering to you but you.
Ryzar was the only one I watched the 2.0 from so far since I liked his voice on the song. My impression is he’s a chill old guy who has a lot of experience with the vtuber community. Seems like he’s happy to give fan service but he has a good sense of how to handle his content and fanbase in a relatively healthy way.
No need to be antagonistic. My problem is that no one in particular seemed more interesting to me than the others and I don’t have time to watch 5 separate 1-2+ hour streams in order to figure it out so that’s why I asked here. I’m grateful to the anons who are kind enough to break it down for me, but I’m not forcing you to do so if you don’t want to so I’m not sure why you’re upset.
Plus, I never asked if they were “too much”, I just asked “how much”, those are two different things and, honestly, your second paragraph was exactly the kind of answer I was looking for so thank you for that.
The issue with the question you’re asking is that it’s often something used to write certain talents off as “bad”, and I think it’s way too early to have any real sense of how they’re going to interact with each other or their audience. My impression of Ryzar changed significantly after just watching his 2.0 because he seemed to choose his words very carefully and he seemed like he was trying to keep things quite PG-13 (he went out of his way to avoid even just swearing), which didn’t really come across in his debut.
My point is mostly just that if one of them appeals more to your personal taste based on the model, voice, interests, etc., I wouldn’t write him off if someone claims he panders to a certain audience because any opinions you’re going to get will be very hastily made.
I think the problem the other anon is pointing out is that its still too soon to tell.
Give it a few months and then come back and ask people here what they think about the new boys. Maybe watch some clips compilations, I think there’s been a few edits made of their debuts already that you could watch to get a bit of a taste.
Watched a bit of Ryzar and he’s going for a very Bettel wilfully ignorant, doing things wrong on purpose for funnies, boyfailure/boywife/himbo aesthetic. Encouraging shipping and having the beefcake model means he’ll probably lean into being attractive to the audience.
“crimzon ruze” is ok but the other 3 names in armis are just awful to me. jurard t rexford might actually be top 5 worst corpo vtuber names imo, idk if he had any input in that name or if it was just assigned to him but somebody seriously should’ve taken a second look at it.
Octavio isn’t really a bad name, just a bit bland compared to the others. And just like Goldbullet, it feels very incomplete because he doesn’t have a last name, just “Octavio”. Jurard T Rexford is so fucking insane that its pretty funny. I think maybe if his name was a name that starts with the letter T and then last name Rexford, like for example Tristan Rexford or Takashi Rexford that could be shortened to T. Rex, then it wouldn’t too bad.
octavio would be a lot better with a last name imo, other than that it is a perfectly fine name. goldbullet works bc it’s unique enough but octavio is virtually un-searchable, which i guess isn’t a huge deal but it just doesn’t say a lot compared to “mori calliope” “noir vesper” “kureiji ollie” etc. i can actually get behind “goldbullet” because it sounds like a kind of codename, especially one a sniper would use.
His full name is Vezalius Bandage. He has a cringe last name but at least his first name “Vezalius” isn’t that weird, and is what most people call him by or “Vez”.
Compare it to Goldbullet, whose FULL NAME is just that… Goldbullet. Like, I wouldn’t mind it if it was his last name and it was like “Gohan Goldbullet” or something. But the fact all he got was that is insane. Even the nickname he has, “Goldie”, isn’t really any better.
just because your model has it doesn’t mean you should be named after it LMFAO. its like naming yourself HOT JIGGLY TITS when your model has exactly that. vtuber names are getting out of hand
im seeing another wave of paranoid schizotweets about jurard supposedly ragebaiting and atp it is far more people worrying than any unicornposting i’ve seen lol… anything about jurard hasnt even come close to the sheer level of malding over vesper in the early days
what are they ragebaiting about, something he said in the predebut tweets stream? cause the timing makes me think they’re recycling drama given it’s armis anniversary. i’m asking as someone without twitter so i’m missing out on the fandom cringe.
The irony of people upvoting this then turning around and whining about shit IRyS or Kiara said over a year ago is palpable. They apparently commited a cardinal sin, but Jurard admitting to rage-baiting is free from scrutiny.
I like the FSP Gen 2 guys but they seem very… similar to Gen 1?
Like I don’t feel like they hired any new personality archetypes, except for maybe the Dino guy.
Even Malim was described as a femboy originally by the Gen 1 boys (Tho this was when they were promoting the new auditions so they hadnt even casted anyone, and ofc the boys dont really know who the company is gonna hire).
I hope if they do a Gen 3, they are more open to hiring new personality archetypes.
(Of course take this with a grain of salt, they JUST debuted so it might take a while for their true personalities to come out, but just from what we’ve seen in their debuts which is what the FSP people were aiming for…)
I wish we can sponsor yt ads for the Stars for fan projects, like maybe to promote their orisongs. as someone mentioned below, the time’s square ad didn’t really reach the target audience, at least with a yt ad we can change that
How is doing ads on youtube supposed to be a bad thing? A corpo is supposed to promote its talents, and they stream on youtube, so of course they’re going to promote them on youtube?
Guessing that they’re annoyed by getting ad spam? I have to admit that I was biased against gen 1 before collabs because I was sick of getting them shoved in my face, even though I came out of the collabs thinking that they’re perfectly nice boys. As for gen 2, I’ve only seen one ad, but I thought it was for an otome mobage at first, so it might be considered “cheap” due to how heavily it leaned on the yumebait aspect.
Considering how shitty StarsEN management’s attempts to use ads to market the boys were (using animated shorts like Yagoo’s Dream that didn’t explain anything about who or what they were, or the time’s square Unchained ad with no sound that also didn’t explain who they were either), I honestly wish we had ads like that instead. At least their ads actually made sense and targeted the right audiences.
The typical debut ads you see from small corpos don’t show off the talent’s personality beyond the archetype you’d expect from their character design. Unchained was more of an “oopsies sorry” apology compensation than a real ad. The Tempus shorts were made during an era where the brotherhood theming was still going strong, so they were probably trying to emphasize that dynamic. I agree that they weren’t the best at showing off their personalities and that they should have at least flashed a banner with their group info. Armis got a series of Twitter-exclusive shorts from the creator of Pop Team Epic that focused on their group dynamic that at least was more true to them, but they were underutilized from a promo standpoint.
Anon, no one watching the StarsEN ads who wasn’t already a fan would have understood them. Basically every other vtuber ad I’ve seen has been more effective than those, so I’m still annoyed by how much of a wasted opportunity they were.
FSP’s ads might have been a bit tacky and heavy-handed, but at least watching them you realized they were for a vtuber debut and got a sample of the guy’s voice and a look at his model. Nix’s ad was what made me interested enough to watch the debuts, so I think it’s silly to pretend doing them is somehow a bad thing.
The FSP boys never really appealed to me, but FSP’s management has just come across as questionable when it comes to pandering the more I hear about the new debuts. Wish there was more information on their JP side and why their entire gen 1 graduated, especially if EN isn’t allowed to talk to them.
Their whole first gen graduated and they’re not allowed to talk to them? Yeah something is definitely sus. FSP is already making itself to look like a cheap knockoff and bringing no original ideas to the table so I’m uninterested.
Gen1 had a mass grad, but it wasn’t even the full gen doing it at once. It was the 4/7 remaining members after 3/7 had successive terminations/graduations. They didn’t even mass grad for their genmates, it was for a Gen3 guy’s termination.
I was going to be charitable and let their Filipino dino slide as a coincidence, but they also got a British cyborg from a Noctyx mama. You know who else is a British cyborg? Fulgur Ovid of Noctyx. Copying casting is so weird.
Grabbing 4/5 of your model artists from popular Holostars and Nijisanji boys is curious. Sharing two concept/nationality combos with those Stars/Niji boys’ genmates is weird. Having your both your gens debut on a StarsEN anniversary is weird when it happens a second time. It’s the sheer amount of overlap that makes it feel iffy.
I see people pointing out the similarities like “aww brothers!!” instead of the reality that is a company trying to copy the success of their competitors. Have any of these “brothers” interacted yet? Kind of says how the people getting copied feel about it.
I haven’t seen any of the “brothers” on the stars side atleast interacting, for the dino boy ruze nor jurard even follow him even though I think he’s been mentioned multiple times and Ruze and him are technically brothers by p-poco mama model wise. for niji they did acknowledge them and follow them back atleast from what I saw from a distance on twitter.
LOL pls, FSP EN is obviously trying to be a BFE / cbdct corpo.
All the people they hired in their new wave appeals to that crowd or is copied from bigger BFE / cbdct corpos.
They don’t collab or interact with female vtubers, the only collabs I’ve ever seen them do besides between eachother, is with males from other corpos.
The reason they don’t interact with the JP side is because the JP side has males AND female vtubers, and they don’t want the boys to interact with the JP boys and ignore the girls, and make the segregation very obvious.
The argument doesn’t work when NijisanjiEN is also a mixed gender branch. The segregation has always been obvious, and everyone can tell what they’re going for. The question is why EN isn’t allowed to talk to JP boys. Does management think that the JP boys will give them behind-the-scenes details of mismanagement on the JP side? Are there major differences in how each side is being treated? That’s the suspicious part.
??
Nijisanji is a completely different corpo, wtf they got to do with FSP being segregated?
You’re making a conspiracy theory when it’s possible the EN and JP guys talk to each other in private, they just don’t want them being public about it.
I watched all the new fsp boys debuts and I’m sad none of them really struck me, I wanted to like Ryzar but the cupcake nickname is a HARD filter for me, I hope he doesnt stick with it. Malim is cute but not my vibe either sadly. Its too bad cause I like Xanny and Rosco enough to tune in now and then during Stars dead hours.
I just saw a clip of Ryzar saying how he encourages shipping. I thought he’d be one of the new guys I’d actually give a chance to but damn, that ship has sailed so fast (pun intended)
Ok upon finding it again, it’s more accurate to say he’s just overtly ok with shipping rather than “encourages” it but my feelings still stand, hard pass.
Sure but I’m speaking for myself only here. I much prefer it when they tell fans to keep it out of their line of sight like Bettel or Ruze. When they openly accept shipping that’s basically the same as encouraging it and it leads to fans posting it in their tags, being annoying during collabs, and other stuff I’m just personally not a fan of in vtuber communities so I’m staying away. To each their own though
Ryzar could go either way for me so far. I don’t like the cupcake thing either, but his personality and voice both seem pretty good to me from the initial impression. I like Vtubers who want to seriously pursue music, and he sounded great on the song and uploaded that short cover, so that immediately gets him a lot of points from me.
I’m pretty interested in Nix because I like angsty chuuni boys and metalcore. His intense love for FFXIV could be rough since streams of that game are like watching paint dry to me, but we’ll see how things turn out.
I wanna know the PL of that new (altho its been like half a year) Niji guy Ryoma Barrenwort.
People said he was some ASMR person that had some terrible allegations tied to him, but then the ASMR guy made a statement saying no he wasn’t him and to stop. And then we never heard what his real PL was.
i know he is an older man, like in his 30s, so I wonder how long ago this “scouted for pro gaming” thing happened, could’ve honestly been like 10 years ago
Does Nijisanji have a “must have vtubing experience” requirement when applying? Hololive allows fleshtubers to audition (ex. Niko of FLOW GLOW, Magni). What’s important is content creation experience.
Just remembered: Wasn’t Sonny Brisko’s PL a streamer?
isnt it as long as you have some type of experience with content creation?
(youtuber, streamer, idol, singer, vtuber, etc) bc the more experience you have the more they’ll want you like how a real job is
exactly this, and they hire pretty much anyone(vtuber, utaite, fleshtuber, faceless, etc) as long as you can act a certain model role, yugo was hired when he never streamed before and only posted short real life acting clips, sonny and other hires were faceless streamers before.
Apparently, one of the Dino guy’s likes is Axel Syrios. This is the first time I heard a non-Holostar male vtuber listing a Holostar EN boy as his favorite.
He talked a bit in his 2.0 about how he really liked Axel’s Queen cover and how he was one of the people who inspired him to build up his confidence and do music as a vtuber. It’s nice to see the boys having such a positive effect on others.
they’re all so ugly and have the same nose and lips. There was a trend a while ago where every male vtuber was commissioning that artist and they got so sloppy with the symmetrical poses.

I was just a bit curious to see what people wanna see from content creators at the moment, but I see what you mean. Yeah I don’t wanna change my personality or be someone who I am not, that would be too exhausting. Being myself on stream is what I’ve done from the beginning, and even when talking with other vtubers they mention I come across as very upbeat and cheerful on streams (even if im actually feeling like shit irl), so I am able to separate both, and just use express sad feelings when doing other content like poems or songs.

i see what you mean. i think you should apply the “if it makes sense” collab mentality equally to male and female vtubers, but if you genuinely just vibe better with men then i suppose that’s fair.as for what people want to see from content creators, i guess that’s kinda hard to say? i think there are so many different niches out there that are consistently popular with their respective demographics (like art, asmr, just chatting, competitive gaming, etc) so it’s hard to generalize. personally i can’t think of any current “meta” so to speak, that’s broadly popular right now but maybe someone else can help me out here?the best i can say on that topic is to try to think of creative new ways to present yourself and your content to make it stand out from the sea of people doing similar things. that sounds easier said than done for sure but it’s up to you to channel your creativity and figure out how you wanna do it. maybe you do something unique with your model/character design, maybe you take the content you’ve been doing (whether it’s gaming, drawing, idk what you do) and add a crazy twist or challenge to it, idk.if you do end up doing that, you can also try editing those creative streams down into youtube videos or tiktoks/shorts if you have the time. i’ve heard mixed things about whether or not shorts actually bring that many new viewers to your streams but fun and well made shorts can at least help boost your visibility and exposure, even if that new exposure mostly just stays on tiktok/youtube and doesn’t funnel that much into your streams. it’s better than nothing and it will help get your name out there.not sure if this is the response you’re looking for but that’s all i can come up with. if this wasn’t the website it is, i would love to check out your content and give better advice, but alas…
Report
good lord the site nuked my formatting sorry for making you read that
Report
Thank you so much for the follow up!
I appreciate so much the sentiment and the help!

It’s a red flag to me when male streamers don’t collab with women
All my fav indies do and it’s nice to see how respectful they are.
And for a corpo example look at Hakka he’s always so respectful and supportive, that guy is a walking green flag
Report
Why it’s a red flag when one doesn’t collab with the opposite sex?
Report
Without further context, a flat refusal to collaborate with another content creator based purely on their sex is at least a little prejudicial. That might not be the intent however, and a streamer should still have the freedom to set their own boundaries, but there are still unintended consequences.
In a corporate/idol space, it’s perpetuating the whole unicorn phenomenon.
Report
Eh, I think that’s a pretty dramatic way of looking at it. Especially since we’re talking about an indie who is really just trying to get off the ground at this point.
It’s a red flag to me if someone tweets out something like “Eww, I’ll never collab with female vtubers, they’re all snakes!!” or tells stories on stream about rudely turning people down for collabs to score points with unicorns in their audience or something. However, collabing with the opposite sex as a vtuber has lots of potential baggage attached to it, and I don’t fault people for deciding that they don’t want that added stress.
Report
maybe start with not calling women females.
also fascinating that you had to specify you would never flirt with a female collab partner, like yeah i sure hope you wouldn’t, that’s the bare minimum of not being a creep
Report
Sorry, english is not my first language. I was gonna write “female vtubers” originally but messed up the wording.
I was also specifying because I know there’s viewers from both sides who are against collabs from mixed genders because they feel like it would get flirty between the collabers, I was just trying to clarify I am not into doing that or have my collab partner flirt with me.

Report
I don’t think it needs to go that far anon. In this case it just basically means bully-able, wet cat energy, boy fail. It’s hard to do on purpose though and if u wanna be corpo, can you really see yourself sticking to that persona in the long run?
Report
The concentration of talents exploitable for ryona in StarsEN is kind of crazy when you consider that it’s baically impossible to find anywhere else
Report
Your size as a streamer doesn’t really matter when it comes to being hired corpo so I’d just focus on actually cultivating skills that your corpo of choice would like. Such as innovative streams, singing talent, etc. The best corpos don’t choose their hires with the intent of drawing in that hire’s existing audience, by and large they choose hires in order to give worthwhile talent a platform and resources to reach new heights, with the assumption that audiences will naturally come from that.
Report
Thank you so much for that!
Report
Report
Thank you so much for this!
I guess I worry too much about numbers when all I should be really worrying about is my talents and training my streaming abilities.
I’ll def keep this in my mind going forward!
Report
If you’re trying seriously for FSP, I’d recommend watching this stream Gale did with audition tips around when they were recruiting for gen 2.
https://youtu.be/eIHoo6qGs3A?t=204
I think he gave some good advice, particularly about what you can do to make a video that stands out. He was one of the smaller guys that got in, so I think it’s a perspective worth hearing if you’re worried about numbers.
Report
I was actually watching live when all the boys got together to talk about the audition for FSP Gen 2! I even took notes of things.
I think I might’ve also watched some of that Gale VOD too passively as background noise when working on other stuff, I’ll definitely watch it again and take notes there too. Thank you so much!
Report
Report
Niji is the only one I haven’t applied to yet, but it seems a bit tempting.
I understand all the drama surrounding the place, but honestly just being given the opportunity at ANY corpo at this point in my life would make a huge difference.
Obviously if I had the choice to pick any corpo I wanted, I’d pick STARs first, FSP second and Niji last, but sometimes we don’t get much of a choice.
Report
bruh moment good luck with that dude

Niji numberfilters HARD so I don’t think I’ll get thru, I just wanna give it a shot and see just to know. However, I do hope people can give those who come out on their next gen a chance. At the end of the day, they’re just trying to be entretainers out there, and males already don’t have many options.
I watch the Ryoma guy from time to time, and he is funny and looks like he is legitimately trying which I can respect.

Honestly, that is fair and I respect your stance.

Can I please get a brutally honest breakdown of each of the new FSP boy’s personality/vibes for someone who doesn’t have time to sit through all the debuts?
Report
Malim
Report
None of this was a brutally honest breakdown of their personalities…
Report
You’re welcome to give your own breakdown. That is what I remembered about each of them after watching their 30-minute debut streams. There’s only so much you’re going to glean about someone from watching him read his likes and dislikes off slides.
Report
(OP) I appreciated your breakdown thank you!
Report
damn ma is it that serious
Report
How would you rate them all on fujo or yume pandering? Or is it too early to tell yet?
Report
They’ve done like a grand total of 1.5 streams dude. If someone seems interesting to you, I’d say just watch his debut and form your own opinion, because no one is going to know what is “too much” pandering to you but you.
Ryzar was the only one I watched the 2.0 from so far since I liked his voice on the song. My impression is he’s a chill old guy who has a lot of experience with the vtuber community. Seems like he’s happy to give fan service but he has a good sense of how to handle his content and fanbase in a relatively healthy way.
Report
No need to be antagonistic. My problem is that no one in particular seemed more interesting to me than the others and I don’t have time to watch 5 separate 1-2+ hour streams in order to figure it out so that’s why I asked here. I’m grateful to the anons who are kind enough to break it down for me, but I’m not forcing you to do so if you don’t want to so I’m not sure why you’re upset.
Plus, I never asked if they were “too much”, I just asked “how much”, those are two different things and, honestly, your second paragraph was exactly the kind of answer I was looking for so thank you for that.
Report
Report
I think the problem the other anon is pointing out is that its still too soon to tell.
Give it a few months and then come back and ask people here what they think about the new boys. Maybe watch some clips compilations, I think there’s been a few edits made of their debuts already that you could watch to get a bit of a taste.
Report
Watched a bit of Ryzar and he’s going for a very Bettel wilfully ignorant, doing things wrong on purpose for funnies, boyfailure/boywife/himbo aesthetic. Encouraging shipping and having the beefcake model means he’ll probably lean into being attractive to the audience.

Nothing will ever beat “Goldbullet” as the worst full vtuber name tho
Report
“crimzon ruze” is ok but the other 3 names in armis are just awful to me. jurard t rexford might actually be top 5 worst corpo vtuber names imo, idk if he had any input in that name or if it was just assigned to him but somebody seriously should’ve taken a second look at it.
Report
Jurard T Rexford is so stupid that it’s perfect, IMO. I love it.
Report
Octavio isn’t really a bad name, just a bit bland compared to the others. And just like Goldbullet, it feels very incomplete because he doesn’t have a last name, just “Octavio”. Jurard T Rexford is so fucking insane that its pretty funny. I think maybe if his name was a name that starts with the letter T and then last name Rexford, like for example Tristan Rexford or Takashi Rexford that could be shortened to T. Rex, then it wouldn’t too bad.
Crimzon got the best name of them all.
Report
octavio would be a lot better with a last name imo, other than that it is a perfectly fine name. goldbullet works bc it’s unique enough but octavio is virtually un-searchable, which i guess isn’t a huge deal but it just doesn’t say a lot compared to “mori calliope” “noir vesper” “kureiji ollie” etc. i can actually get behind “goldbullet” because it sounds like a kind of codename, especially one a sniper would use.
Report
There is a motherfucker who’s name is fucking Bandage
Report
His full name is Vezalius Bandage. He has a cringe last name but at least his first name “Vezalius” isn’t that weird, and is what most people call him by or “Vez”.
Compare it to Goldbullet, whose FULL NAME is just that… Goldbullet. Like, I wouldn’t mind it if it was his last name and it was like “Gohan Goldbullet” or something. But the fact all he got was that is insane. Even the nickname he has, “Goldie”, isn’t really any better.
Report
maybe if they incorporate a bunch of bandaids into their design that name could work…
Report
In all fairness, his design does have mummy-like bandages in it and he’s a medic, so it’s not that it doesn’t make sense, it just sounds stupid.

I wish we can sponsor yt ads for the Stars for fan projects, like maybe to promote their orisongs. as someone mentioned below, the time’s square ad didn’t really reach the target audience, at least with a yt ad we can change that
Report
I saw tons of youtube ads for uproar and starsen predebut, what do you mean lol
Report
How is doing ads on youtube supposed to be a bad thing? A corpo is supposed to promote its talents, and they stream on youtube, so of course they’re going to promote them on youtube?
Report
Guessing that they’re annoyed by getting ad spam? I have to admit that I was biased against gen 1 before collabs because I was sick of getting them shoved in my face, even though I came out of the collabs thinking that they’re perfectly nice boys. As for gen 2, I’ve only seen one ad, but I thought it was for an otome mobage at first, so it might be considered “cheap” due to how heavily it leaned on the yumebait aspect.
Report
Considering how shitty StarsEN management’s attempts to use ads to market the boys were (using animated shorts like Yagoo’s Dream that didn’t explain anything about who or what they were, or the time’s square Unchained ad with no sound that also didn’t explain who they were either), I honestly wish we had ads like that instead. At least their ads actually made sense and targeted the right audiences.
Report
They had so much potential with the Tempus manga if only they kept going with it
Report
Report
Anon, no one watching the StarsEN ads who wasn’t already a fan would have understood them. Basically every other vtuber ad I’ve seen has been more effective than those, so I’m still annoyed by how much of a wasted opportunity they were.
FSP’s ads might have been a bit tacky and heavy-handed, but at least watching them you realized they were for a vtuber debut and got a sample of the guy’s voice and a look at his model. Nix’s ad was what made me interested enough to watch the debuts, so I think it’s silly to pretend doing them is somehow a bad thing.
Report
rosco’s ad annoyed the fuck outta me 😭

The FSP boys never really appealed to me, but FSP’s management has just come across as questionable when it comes to pandering the more I hear about the new debuts. Wish there was more information on their JP side and why their entire gen 1 graduated, especially if EN isn’t allowed to talk to them.
Report
Their whole first gen graduated and they’re not allowed to talk to them? Yeah something is definitely sus. FSP is already making itself to look like a cheap knockoff and bringing no original ideas to the table so I’m uninterested.
Report
Gen1 had a mass grad, but it wasn’t even the full gen doing it at once. It was the 4/7 remaining members after 3/7 had successive terminations/graduations. They didn’t even mass grad for their genmates, it was for a Gen3 guy’s termination.

Hakka seems to be the only Stars EN boy so far who followed the new guys.
Report
Quite literally the only boy I’ve seen referenced is Ryzar mentioning Axel when talking about music. Otherwise nothing.
Report
They probably don’t want EN and JP to interact because they want to keep boys and girls apart.
Report
I don’t know why this is getting repeated so often, but FSP is mixed gender, not girls-only.
Report
LOL pls, FSP EN is obviously trying to be a BFE / cbdct corpo.
All the people they hired in their new wave appeals to that crowd or is copied from bigger BFE / cbdct corpos.
They don’t collab or interact with female vtubers, the only collabs I’ve ever seen them do besides between eachother, is with males from other corpos.
The reason they don’t interact with the JP side is because the JP side has males AND female vtubers, and they don’t want the boys to interact with the JP boys and ignore the girls, and make the segregation very obvious.
Report
The argument doesn’t work when NijisanjiEN is also a mixed gender branch. The segregation has always been obvious, and everyone can tell what they’re going for. The question is why EN isn’t allowed to talk to JP boys. Does management think that the JP boys will give them behind-the-scenes details of mismanagement on the JP side? Are there major differences in how each side is being treated? That’s the suspicious part.
Report
??
Nijisanji is a completely different corpo, wtf they got to do with FSP being segregated?
You’re making a conspiracy theory when it’s possible the EN and JP guys talk to each other in private, they just don’t want them being public about it.
Report
Not on the EN side, it isn’t. Why do you think their fans chose /cbdct/ as their home general instead of having one of their own?

I don’t really see how that’s a problem. That’s the stance of most vtubers because fans are going to ship them no matter what they say.
Report
Sure but I’m speaking for myself only here. I much prefer it when they tell fans to keep it out of their line of sight like Bettel or Ruze. When they openly accept shipping that’s basically the same as encouraging it and it leads to fans posting it in their tags, being annoying during collabs, and other stuff I’m just personally not a fan of in vtuber communities so I’m staying away. People said he was some ASMR person that had some terrible allegations tied to him, but then the ASMR guy made a statement saying no he wasn’t him and to stop. And then we never heard what his real PL was.
Report
he said he was asked/scouted to join a pro gaming team but he declined because he didn’t think he could handle that mentally
Report
is it possible he was never a vtuber in his PL?
i know he is an older man, like in his 30s, so I wonder how long ago this “scouted for pro gaming” thing happened, could’ve honestly been like 10 years ago
Report
Does Nijisanji have a “must have vtubing experience” requirement when applying? Hololive allows fleshtubers to audition (ex. Niko of FLOW GLOW, Magni). What’s important is content creation experience.
Just remembered: Wasn’t Sonny Brisko’s PL a streamer?
Report
Did you forget Kyo? He was a flesh streamer.
Report
I never watched Kyo or Quinn so I forgot.
Report
isnt it as long as you have some type of experience with content creation?
(youtuber, streamer, idol, singer, vtuber, etc) bc the more experience you have the more they’ll want you like how a real job is
Report
exactly this, and they hire pretty much anyone(vtuber, utaite, fleshtuber, faceless, etc) as long as you can act a certain model role, yugo was hired when he never streamed before and only posted short real life acting clips, sonny and other hires were faceless streamers before.

Dino was Kite Hasegawa from Invicta. Malim is Koiro Yumi, The aussie is WanhVT, not too sure about Nayuta or Altus? I think one of them was Kaichinzu.
Report
The fact that my first impression of Koiro Yumi was his skirt tweet on twitter…
Report
Kaichinzu is Nix. So all we’re missing is purple guy Nayuta.
Report
Nayuta is Komai Rui. He’s collabed with Altare and Shinri once, compare his voice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=85GCWZyHnbk (07:15)
Report
Well that one was the last piece of the puzzle. We have them all.
Good job ladies.
Report
Just gotta find a male chuuba who is on “hiatus” and his twitter is priv
Report
I found out pretty quickly Dino was Kite because the invicta boys were posting orange heart and meat emojis lol. They seem really proud of him
Report
Yeah, it was sweet to see how happy they are for him. Seems like he’s really loved.
Report
Apparently, one of the Dino guy’s likes is Axel Syrios. This is the first time I heard a non-Holostar male vtuber listing a Holostar EN boy as his favorite.
Report
mans got taste
Report
He also had Uki in his likes list, so idk if he has that good of a taste
Report
was only referring to axel. no one else.
Report
That’s actually really sweet. The new baby dino orange boy likes our silly dingo orange boy.
Report
He talked a bit in his 2.0 about how he really liked Axel’s Queen cover and how he was one of the people who inspired him to build up his confidence and do music as a vtuber. It’s nice to see the boys having such a positive effect on others.
Report
WanhVT? I cant find anything about him
Report
anon made a typo: it’s WahnVT, a red panda vtuber
Report
Tysm
Report
Oh damn, Dino was Lex’s brother? That makes sense actually. Pretty sure they’ve collabed at least once before
Report
No way that is true
Report
They mean brother as in sharing an artist mama, not actual irl brothers
Report
Yeah exactly lmao, their art mama was Jouvru! I found the clip I was thinking about:
https://www.twitch.tv/lexpartevt/clip/AverageStormyMonkeyKappaRoss-PJKyjt69PV_Gwk1X
Report
man, kite’s head is tiny. lex’s model is better proportioned.
Report
All the invicta boys have such extreme yaoi proportions and I hate it
Report
they’re all so ugly and have the same nose and lips. There was a trend a while ago where every male vtuber was commissioning that artist and they got so sloppy with the symmetrical poses.
