Dear clippers we need more of you
My idea is what if existing clippers made how to videos so those of us who don’t know how to can learn?
If these things already exist feel free to link them and share them around because we need more people on the front lines hyping our boys up
I’m actually curious about this. Do clippers download the whole stream they’re clipping first, then clip? I tried to clip something before and I screen recorded it because I don’t wanna dl a whole 2hr+ stream just to get a few minutes, but screen recording is such a hassle as I can’t multitask
Clippers usually use yt-dlp to download the clips since there’s a way for it to only download the sections they want and not the entire stream. It could be difficult to get a hang of it at first because of all the different commands, but once you get used to it, it’s the most convenient way in my opinion.
altare did once and basically said it wasn’t worth the money spent hiring the editor because they were severely limited on assets they could use like sound effects and graphics since management needed perms for everything
Yeah, some of the boys have tried hiring people to do that stuff and the result isn’t really worth it in the end. Fans have a better sense of what other fans want to see, and they don’t have to deal with the restrictions that paid clippers do.
Why is it shocking to you that somebody thay has fans here is having her new outfit acknowledged here? Not everything is a targeted attack, stop being embarrassing.
since we’re talking about numbers, do you guys think that with the right amount of shipping, it can boost some vtuber popularity (not necessary for our boys, just any vtubers in general)? it kinda work on regular idols.
how hard is it to just show up to a stream and watch it.. shipping works too but vtubers are so fleeting, the moment a ship dies or someone graduates then all that will be for nothing
I was trying to get away from like the NSFW stuff. I’m actually like fine with doing NSFW stuff but like the only reason I stopped all that is because it felt like the people who liked me for
that stuff, even though I hadn’t done it in a long time…during that time, they treated me like a child? I don’t how to explain it. Like they would [be like] “my little baby boy” and I wasn’t really into that.
I was like, okay, it’s one thing if I’m doing the NSFW, but like there’s a- what’s it called? There’s a division between that and me who is just normal on stream, right? And I felt like people couldn’t distinguish between the two and just saw me as whatever they saw me as instead of who I am.
The “saw me as whatever they saw me as” seems to be the key point on how it all gets so bad. People just end up treating them as characters/dolls instead of remembering that this is RPF with extra steeps.
this isn’t just a thing that happened to some niche anime streamers, this is an actual phenomenon that ive noticed over the years where if a fandom is primarily made up of shippers then the entire thing is a ticking time bomb
They are not comfortable with it, it is obvious how they cringe when they are forced to do it or how it sours the mood if Gibby or Hakka brings it up. I believe Hakka is taken less seriously because he will fake flirt and then fart so it’s really like a small boy being edgy and why his genmates humor him. But, it is very obvious how awkward things turn when Gibby tried to do it. Ruze and Jurard would ignore him and give him a time out basically, the only one not wanting to sour the mood was Octavio and then he would do poop jokes for levity.
Why force them to be sexualized? they are not cheap whores. Even Niji talent has talked on the side how denigrating it is to force it or humor people like the purple one.
Even the FPS guys look so uncomfortable doing it. The only time I have seem them comfortable in collabs is with Holostars because they don’t have to fujobait and actually be themselves.
Anon, the average FSP collab is no different at all from a Holostars one. They make slightly more jokes about shipping, but the tone is generally about the same – it’s very obvious that it’s just a bunch of dudes messing around.
Yeah, I’ve seen it happen for some guys. But, it’s playing with fire and not something you can easily squelch once it’s started. Like, I’m an unrepentant fujo and even I wouldn’t recommend doing it.
i’m sorry to disappoint but there’s absolutely no fandom without shipping whatsoever lol, shipping is an essential for fandoms and some are even built on them. yeah tempus themselves may not engage (as much) with it or flirt but shipping within the fandom 100% exists. again, no fandom without shipping. the question is whether shipping happens in the open or behind closed doors and whether you interact with the shipping part of your fandom. people who ship the tempus boys aren’t even hard to find, just open certain fanfic sites lol.
Yeah, like other posts have said, what I meant is that the boys don’t ship themselves with each other. I tried watching other male vtubers and during the first 5 minutes they were already talking about shipping and marrying each other, or how much they were hot for x and y
Holostars is much more like YouTube Traditional Content. This is why a lot of fans will show it to their parents, family or even children, because they are not talking about their buddy’s cock on their mouth constantly.
Also, this is the model, Yaago has said before how he wants HoloPro to be content that can be consumed not by niche audiences but by general audiences, and citing the Disney model.
ah i apologize! i’m a bit dense, thank you for elaborating your point more! appreciate it.
i do agree, and i’m sorry– didn’t mean to dismiss your point either. totally misunderstood you then but welp, happens. it’s indeed refreshing to see what seems like genuine friendships and just vtubers having fun with eachother within stars compared to other dynamics within the vtuber space.
i think that’s what they mean. you do have to actively work to find ship content here- i’ve been in the fandom a while and it hasn’t showed up on my tl at all. not so with most fandoms.
I’m pretty sure they just mean there’s no shipping that the boys do that’s basically their whole content or interactions with each other. You find me a fandom with no shipping whatsoever and I’ll still call you a liar.
hell even all the actual shippers in the fandom ive seen have private twt accounts and they censor the names so it doesnt get caught by search engines so the only way you can find any of the shipping is to Know A Guy
I really enjoy that actually, every other vtuber fandom isn’t really like that and does public shipping on main and it makes me cringe because that stuff is definitely ending up on whatever talents timeline sooner than later. especially the nsfw stuff. Idk about yall but if i saw myself being railed by one of my coworkers on the tl even if it was my vtuber model everyday I would crash out.
. . . it works but i would not recommend that, that’s how you attract crazies in droves. Shipping is serious business, especially if it involves actual people, even if they’re behind an avatar. That might make it worse actually, considering that barrier makes it seem like they’re TV show characters despite basically being voice actors. Dreamnotfound, Septiplier, the Phandom, even GMM had an issue with people being really weird about Rhett and Link being married to other offscreen folk.
Yes because ive seen it happen and it still actively happens. A lot of the most shipped members in whatever group or corpo they’re in get more art drawn of them, more fan works and clips etc and that gets people talking and watching. Put it into perspective there’s a reason why a good chunk of straight vtubers male or female make their sexualities seem blurred in between the lines even though they clarify that they’re straight every once and while. Yaoi and Yuri baiting is real.
CLIP THEM AND SHOW UP FOR EVERY STREAM. if you want the boys to grow, just do that. it’s that simple. Hololive grew because the fans made an effort to show up for them no matter what.
yep i do the exact same thing. leaving a like on every stream/related video involving them that i can so the algo can do its thing. You guys arent fighting the unicorns or w/e, you need to be focused on fighting the algorithm and what you can do to cheat it.
What gets clipped and who is trying to be appealed to matters. Clip to attract more of a female audience? Or clip to attract more of a male audience? What if the male audience shows up and gets put off by some fujo baiting or woman baiting outfit change? Luxiem was lightning in a bottle and at a time where vtubers were much more popular and still growing and we all know how that fanbase was. The vtuber audience is primarily male. Do you think males want to watch a moaning compilation or fujo baiting? Its not as simple as just saying clip them.
genuine question: do you actually watch holostars at all? because the boys don’t do that. literally none of them do that. the worst you’ll get is locker room talk.
NTA but I’ll entertain your discussion further when you can point to at least 3 absolutely unquestionable fujobait clips specifically from current StarsEN members that happened within the last month or so.
Because I get HoloEN/StarsEN clips recommended all the time and all of the guys ones are of the stupid shit they ramble about to their chats/each other or funny gaming moments.
The date doesnt matter its what gets views and gets pushed into the algorithm. Search holostars EN and tell me the first six videos you see on a new account. I see bettel mistakenly bought a yuri manga in a very revealing outfit. No girls allowed at the homies massage section and flayon says something unhinged with the thumbnail saying he is a sex symbol and flayon casually flirting with hakka.
I did an Incognito Mode search as well, and I got similar results to the other Nonnie below. But here’s 7 more unique ones that I got:
#1. Bloodhounds MV
#2. Hakka talking about how Axel tried to get him into gambling for the lolz
#3. Jurard’s Bling-Bang-Bang-Born cover
#4. Hakka getting to finally give Shinri a real hug
#5. +1 year old clip of Calli saying of all her “sons” in HQ, she’d punch Axel first.
#6. 34 minute StarsEN collab clips compilation by Penguin Master Clips
#7. Flex MV
I dunno boss, sounds like you either look up gay shit on purpose so it fucks up your algorithm, or you look for yuri clips of the girls so much it thinks you’re also into yaoi.
This is going to sound mean as fuck, so sorry in advance but…
Aside from the Countdown possibly-to-very probably being dropped because of manpower issues with the 3D studio, I’m pretty convinced that the new sub goal restrictions put on the JP Stars might be the reason we don’t have the Countdown this year. Because there’s no way Cover didn’t see the boost that the EN boys would bring: 6 brand new 3D models that have barely been used to show off, more people to do more songs/variety, and, bluntly, the EN branch is more popular and would bring in their fans/casual EN only viewers. Why would they ignore all those factors? Only thing I can think is that now the JP Stars have gotten a swift kick in the ass to do more promotion for themselves to earn more 3D chances…but unfortunately EN was the collateral to get that to happen.
Also I’ve still got my fingers crossed (maybe in vain but who knows) that the reason StarsEN don’t have anything for New Year’s is that they might be getting their kimonos finally and can do a full branch rally for it. But that’s me being really really optimistic.
I remember seeing they still recruiting new graduates for 3d teams few days ago and yesterday saw new post fro recruitment but this time minus 3D team recruitment. guess we will be seeing not so much limited 3D stream in 2025?
I think your right in your first point, however I really really doubt that EN is getting their kimonos this year, I genuinely think they’re leaving them out to dust and probably focusing on getting ARMIS their 2nd outfits instead probably next year.

if you’re going to numberfag at least do it right. fsp buys ads for their talents which inflates the numbers dramatically- i am willing to bet money 10% or less of those numbers are people actually streaming the song.
this was discussed recently already, but it’s because ads don’t work. those ad campaigns are a waste of time- they don’t translate to increased traffic for the talents. they’re fake numbers. what cover should be focusing on are the talents themselves.
Just to add, investors do care about fake numbers, even if they are dead subs, because in business a lot of numbers have yo be inflated not actual weights. So yeah, Cover should invest in these fake numbers to shut up the investors
They would work if the content was good enough to retain an audience.
It’s a waste for fsp cause they can’t find an audience that wants them, mostly because they are competing in the BFE arena ant it’s saturated as fuck
I think it could work for stars cause their appeal is a lot broader
Not really. Ads can absolutely make a difference, but they’re not some silver bullet that will immediately net any streamer thousands of loyal viewers that will tune in to every stream from that point on. If they were, literally anyone with enough money to run ads would be famous.
They are just one tool that I wish StarsEN management would use better.
holy shit missing “those” in the first sentence makes me look like a prick lmaoi agree with you, but making covers the ads isn’t the way to use the tool. they should be advertising the boys- whether that’s via short introductions (as i’ve seen some corpos do) or by actually hiring clippers and promoting those. starsEN are streamers first and idols second, at least for now, so it doesn’t make sense to advertise their covers when they barely sing compared to their other content.
FSP’s songs are absolutely ad boosted to high heaven and it’s clearly not helped them grow all that much. Plus, I checked cause I was curious and considering Lucien’s 3D Showcase barely got over 2K CCV, I’d say those song numbers being actual ass people listening to it as far smaller.
no, we need to promo the boys in general. only three of them are singers, and none of them do enough music-related content to watch for that alone. each of the boys have their own unique strengths, and we should promote those rather than the music niche that most of them don’t cater to.
I think you’re being kind of needlessly nitpicky here. It may not be the right strategy for all of them, but some of the boys clearly have very serious musical aspirations, and it’s not a bad idea to try to give their music a stronger push.
The reality is that saying “Hey, check out this guy’s song” or “Hey, check out this cool cover of _” is one of the easiest points of entry for new fans – it’s usually a much easier sell than “Check out this clip compilation of a bunch of guys you’ve never heard of having fun together”.

no, we need to promo the boys in general. only three of them are singers, and none of them do enough music-related content to watch for that alone. each of the boys have their own unique strengths, and we should promote those rather than the music niche that most of them don’t cater to.
