The nominations are up. Bettel’s nominated and I can’t remember if he was nominated before or if this is his first. Nijisanji is nominated for Best Vtuber Org despite their reputation sank in the EN vtubing community ever since Selen’s termination drama. Though I guess their diehard fandom put them there and Niji is catching up with the other 3D debuts of the other waves.
the irony of filian hosting this and giving an award for best vtuber fashion and best vtuber parent while using a model she stole and did not have approval for use by the actual creator of it lmao
Nothing. Filian joked about the situation and the creator made a general statement about not wanting their models to be used for merch. The nendroid that was in production for Filian was shut down, but that’s it. A Japanese artist just doesn’t have the realistic means to pursue legal action against someone outside of their country.
Bettel being listed for fashion is fucking weird to me, any sense of fashion is strictly mentioned/shown through PL pictures. Flayon talks about fashion more than bettel lol
Wondering if some of these nomination are botted. Because Akemi of AKA virtual got into here in the gaming category when he is known for his shorts meta. Plus the agency was in huge drama recently regarding ID vtuber award where all categories were dominated by their talent because the fans voted using multiple account.
I still don’t think these awards really make sense as both the nominations and winners are heavily budget/popularity based without any serious consideration towards whether the win was warranted. I’m saying that as someone whose oshi won one of thr categories last year, so I’m not speaking out of salt. I suspect this is the reason why several winners never acknowledged their win or even the awards.
