Royalty doesn’t equal to richness in Indo. They might hold titles and such, but if they’re on the lower end of royalty, they pretty much got nothing but bragging rights. I mean my aunt is a royalty and her family is a pretty normal working class. These “royalty” titles are pretty much watered down nowadays.
really just curious as to why watchalongs are always the go-to menshi content? what is the appeal and why would it only be for menshi? is there anything preventing them from doing it publicly?
Watchalongs are menshi only because they are more lowkey relaxed events. Either your oshi takes the day off or relaxes with the audience. Think of it as a movie date with a friend.
They are not public because there is not much content and tends to be a more close knitted experience for both talent and chat. You can just watch the film and your oshi reaction without having to banter of be the fun crowd which have a more active participation like in a Zatsu or a Karaoke.
It’s like a cute day off for you and your oshi…if you find it lazy or boring you are not getting the point, some of us actually enjoy it. I dont like Marvel Rivals or focused games where the talents ignore the Chat but I don’t complain, the important of varied content is that, that everyone gets something.

Do you mean Blithe if that’s who you are referring to? His graduation was streamed a day before the debut. But I don’t think it’s him unless I’m wrong. Altare has a lot of indie vtuber friends so it could be anyone.
Yeah Blythe seems genuinely done with the vtubing scene and was emotional about it, I dont think he would have felt that way or said what he said if he was moving to a corpo job
