i hate to even bring this up but why does holostars en which is supposed to be the music based branch get worse group songs compared to hololive en. of course i love always tied and top of the world but only because i associate those songs with tempus and it brings me good memories. i dont listen to those songs on my own because theyre just not as catchy compared to something like above below. i wish cover realized that if they promoted holostars en more with better quality songs for example then they would gain even more fans just through the music alone
i really hope no one takes this the wrong way either i am just really protective and defensive of holostars and i want to see them grow even more but it feels like they’re being limited from the inside i hope that makes sense
honestly I consider flex to be the canon tempus group song at this point. top of the world is a good song, but it’s bittersweet, and it can never be performed again without reassigning parts. always tied is catchy but the lyrics are dogshit and it’s clear none of vg actually likes it that much. flex was written by native english speakers specifically for the 6 of them so it does a better job of being what a group orisong is supposed to be imo

top of the world and always tied are lame-sounding because they’re composed + written by japanese composers and lyricists who aren’t familiar with english to know what sounds good in the language. compare with bloodhounds, if you check out the credits one of the composers and arranger is a korean dude who did high school overseas and the lyrics were written by a london-born japanese lady who studied at berkeley. hopefully they keep hiring people who can write songs that actually sound decent in english.

i didnt mention woven fates/dead world/flex because i was just talking about debut group songs that will get the most immediate exposure and first impression from new people but i loved those songs and they were amazing. i hope people find them from those songs
