Yeah, I’m assuming he’ll be back before then. The break being specifically for around a month made me think he was intending to use it as a reset so he could go into his birthday/the New Year feeling more positive about the future.
After how he reacted to his first birthday, I think he’s the type that would feel really terrible about being bitter and negative when fans are showering him with money and projects they poured months of effort into.
Wait what happened with his first birthday? I don’t remember anything being wrong (besides the whole bullshit with Vesper’s no collab thing). But it has been almost 2 years since then, so it might have just escaped me.

Huh? What I was talking about in that post is that he was really deeply touched by all the love he received during his birthday, and he went into the next year feeling so motivated to kind of pay the fans back with music and big projects, etc.
Knowing he’s that deeply affected by people spending time on him, if projects he was hyping as a reward for the fans’ support fell through, not being able to at least pay them back with a fun vibe during his birthday stream would probably make him feel really guilty.
And yeah, as someone who saw Axel get really hung up and upset that the majority of his anniversary and birthday stuff didn’t work out at all, it’s rough.
Man…Axel was excited to do the drawing stream and karaoke for Christmas and both streams got fucked over. So we all lost out on cool stuff and he basically missed 2 days where he could have made some good money on top of that.
I find it funny how Tokimane blurred or blacked out every visible reflection/flesh except Shinri’s spoon reflection. You can only really see his sweater but still
The Big 2:
– My absolute no questions asked recommendation on Axel is his playthrough of Doki Doki Literature Club, because it’s iconic to him. (His cover of Kyu-Kyurarin also has easter eggs to his playthrough as well.) I highly recommend watching the whole thing, but if you can only watch one part as a sampler, watch all of Part 3. He himself has also said that this is the game that he loved playing on-stream the most.
– Second big recommendation is his 3D showcase. He absolutely killed it and it’s hands down one of the strongest 3D debuts in the entire EN branch, and I don’t say that lightly. It’s also a great sampler of his live singing and the whole thing just oozes his personality and charm.
Others:
– His (basically) complete Miitopia series is a ton of fun, plus you get a full cameo from all of StarsEN throughout.
– Burger Bistro Story is Wildcard #1, but it’s really where he started getting comfortable with the Axelotls and where his dynamic with them started forming into what it is today (fucker STILL HASN’T PAID US-)
– Wildcard #2 is his playthrough of Dave the Diver. It’s just a very chill series to vibe to.
– Any of his birthday and anniversary streams (and their pre/post zatsus) are lovely (I’d blanket say any zatsu of his is great, but those are where he tends to be really sweet).
– His first outfit reveal stream is great all around, one of my favorites.
– For collab things, TSB Arc is beloved (Shark Ch. has a great clip series for the whole thing) (or you can also watch the TSB Custom for a taste of their dynamic), and I’d also recommend his first time joining VCR Rust and VCR GTA, even if both are mainly in JP.
Recent stuff if you haven’t seen it:
– the Father Syrios stream from yesterday was a fucking riot.
– he’s playing through Dragon Quest 3 and it shows off how much of an old JRPG nerd he is.
– his uni graduation stream is just a nice zatsu where he gets some much deserved praise.
