It made me think that a guaranteed NY outfit budget might have been part of those things Stars JP just got back then, despite their sub numbers (this isn’t meant as a diss), but for EN this year the rules have changed and they haven’t reached whatever goal number they would’ve needed for it? Although sub numbers are a bad way of measuring popularity, unfortunately a lot of celebrations and merch releases for talents are gated behind them.
That kind of doesn’t make sense since I would imagine ReGloss would have gotten their own NY outfits last year or this year if it was sub goal related.
My theory is that they are trading the kimonos for something else. it is around 4-8k for each and we know they sometimes pool their funds for stuff. it is a lot of money $24k-$48k together might actually fund a cool ass project, or maybe even give it to the boys that need it more i.e Shinri (moving /Axel (School) etc. If I was in their shoes I would also choose something else over KimonosArmis might be choosing to do the same because both gens have the highest earners in all male branches so this is really not about cash. That or Incel-mane once again at it who knows.
Sorry to be an asshole but that’s not how funds are allocated. Their budget is undoubtedly set and itemized that “$X is used for assets, outfits, or updates for models” is noted specifically. You can’t just go “Hey can I use the money meant for my model on moving funds or tuition?”, Cover would have a lot of questions.
It’s also why MagNoir getting new models is still contentious even years later: Altare and Axel sacrificed their budgets for a new outfit/updates/accessories for themselves and gave it to them to get a 1.5 update and full 2.0 model (something we know is real because both ex-talents noted that Shiny Spicy “made sacrifices for them” where neither had anything until late December 2023 and January 2024, when they were probably using funds from their new budget).
I definitely would prefer the money for New Year’s outfits be used for other projects, but I don’t think they could be re-allocated to personal expenses like with the Shinri or Axel examples.
When you’re dealing with a corporation, funds are generally categorized for general areas of use, not just completely freeballing it. Otherwise their accounting gets fucked up pretty fast.
