I’m not saying the studio and stuff isn’t cool, but having a non jp studio feels like it should be something Cover provides, not a talent. It’s just so embarrassing for Cover, the biggest vtubing company, to need their talents to do this out of pocket.

Him having his own office for gaming, as well as VR stuff has been something he’s talked about for awhile, and now that he’s got the space for it you’re upset? Cover didn’t NEED to do anything, this was a thing Altare had wanted, and worked for himself. Don’t give your fake congratulations if you aren’t going to understand the work he put in for it.
OP I hear you but setting up a studio space for an individual talent is a bit much they have over 100 talents or something I think. Plus they already provide preliminary equipment for at home streaming if they need it, manager support, and flight tickets and accommodation for when they need to go to JP. If they wouldn’t do it for Gura they definitely wouldn’t for Altare, and Altare did it because he wanted to enhance his job same as Ame.
Cover is already setting up a branch office in the US, so an official studio isn’t out of the question. But it sounds like Altare wanted his own space to work in regardless.
the US office is currently for the purpose of Cover having easier access to collabing with North American businesses. it might take years for them to even start thinking of setting up an actual studio, they’re still having trouble hiring and training enough staff for the new Japanese studio
Yes and reading some of the comments here, I think people are underestimating the cost and quality difference between a professional studio like the one Cover owns in Japan versus the home studios Ame and Altare have. Getting a home 3D studio is already extremely expensive for the average person… Getting a professional one that Cover owns? Impossible for most individuals and already incredibly difficult to put together even for Cover.
Even on the JP side, there are talents that have had to delay their 3D birthday/anniversary events because of shortages of staff and overbooking of the studio. When the company is already struggling with throughput in their own native branch, they probably don’t have the means to expand 3D operations to Indonesia/English countries.
I also wouldn’t be surprised if they’re still wary of expansion into foreign countries after the way the Chinese branch was shut down entirely a couple years back. Having employees and offices in foreign countries is a mountain of research and paperwork and carries the inherent risk of less control over what those employees do. Cover has only just recently begun that process in America.
Yea their progress may seem slow but you have to see it from their side their a huge corpo with shareholders to answer to. Plus their own studio is hella expensive and better for them to fly people to JP than to fund a studio in their base countries, because what if they leave/graduate. It’s too big of a risk on them to do that.
Plus with property prices in the US, getting a moderately sized studio in an area with convenient access to transit would be a 5 or 6-figure investment all on its own. That’s not counting any of the equipment or personnel.
Altare cooked so goddamn hard he delivered so much to us and more. I can’t wait for everyone to use this studio in the future and for altare to stream more here. I love this cringe lil guy and his creativity and drive. Tempus forever.
