Cover USA was only recently announced and likely more for the business side of things. There’s no way they’ll have a 3D studio up and running within a year or even 2 years when they’re still struggling to staff and operate the 3D studio in Japan. And Altare’s home studio is not the same at all. I’d love to be wrong, but realistically, I don’t see Cover opening an American studio any earlier than 3 years.
All that said, I’m not on the OP’s train of thought that Bettel’s not going back to Japan or anything. People being paranoid/trolly in this thread.
This, honestly grinds my gears everytime somebody says Cover is going to open a JP-tier studio in the United States when it was pretty explicit that the USA opening was mostly to facilitate easier sponsorship, collab, and merch opportunities.
it makes sense to have that studio in Asia, where a majority of their talents are centralized. It would not make sense in the US, as it would only “conveniently” service a handful that would still likely have to travel significant distances to utilize it, and wouldn’t be frequently used for large collabs, again, due to the necessity of lengthy travel.
It’s funny that this topic went doomposting about Bettel’s future to correcting misinformation about Cover USA and why a 3D studio in the US is impossible for a Japanese company that still needs more manpower for their main 3D studio. LMAO.

It won’t be the same as the main studio, but enough for 3D concerts. The professional mocap studio costs about 50k which for a company like Cover is pretty easy. Plus investors, loans, etc. This is actually a corporation, not Merryweather’s vanity project. They have wasted more money on the metaverse project, so a professional mocap studio is not that hard in scope.
“Wasted” maybe to you, but in the eyes of the investors you’ve already mentioned, expansion of the IP into new mediums is likely more important than investing significant cash into a new 3D studio with limited uses. The JP studio is booked almost all year, which more than justifies the expenditure of building it. Not even close to the same could be said for a US studio, ignoring the extreme underestimation of the cost to build it you’ve made here, as well as you ignoring the cost of equipping and staffing it.I get that it would be nice, but obviously unrealistic copes like this really shouldn’t be pushed when they only set fanbases up for unneeded disappointment.

Well.. the boys have been implying recently a lot with their issues behind the scenes (especially with cover issues that they already spent tons on being wasted as they weren’t able to follow through). Doesn’t help with all the current fiascos with Gamma’s graduation AND the unchained incident still ongoing while other groups in the same company are not having issues at all (Not blaming the groups blaming the management for treating each so differently). There’s so many ways you could look at this which is worrysome for me with all the boys. I hope things get better for them…
Imo it’s because the logistics of arranging a trip in a foreign language in is too much for his anxiety to deal with. Understandable. It can be really stressful to arrange a trip in a language a person can speak, let alone a language a person can’t speak
Being someone who had to occasionally travel for businesses manners, having anxiety mixed with an auditory disorder is hell in a new country. Even if you know general phrases to properly communicate with citizens, being able to actually understand back is so hard because your brain already struggles with processing your own language people speak to you. The anxiety worsens it because of the worry of both being in an unfamiliar area and the fear the person you’re speaking to will get upset or bring harm to you for both your lack of fluency and disability. It’s happened to me a few times in my travels. I would not blame him if this is the case
