It’s not serious but it doesn’t mock it either. It is very sweet and balances extremely well the very thin thread and delicate line BFE and Idol (?) without being either disrespectful or over the top.
It was made with lots of love that is very obvious, like I said this is very sweet.
If you don’t like his sweet side, and like more his funny silly childish side this might not be right for you, but if you like his menshi content and sweet side this is food for the soul.

Guys… I’m so sorry… I don’t like the daki. All the love and respect for Senzaki mama, the art is gorgeous of course but man it’s just not giving “Bettel” yknow? I much prefer the first one she did before that got shut down by Cover.
it wasn’t anything crazy, iirc one side was more or less his default outfit minus the robe, and the other side was a maid outfit with I think some very light bondage.
worth noting, they didn’t shut her down because the art was too racy. they shut her down because she was selling it on her own store, and there was a misunderstanding about the IP clearances she needed from cover.
Cover lets the artist Mama’s and Papa’s sell merch of their kids, but I think there’s certain things that are just no go for the design. I’m pretty sure lack sold a Flare daki and I know someone else also sold a daki, but they have to follow rules since it is, technically, unofficial merch even if it’s done by the original artist.
I would bet it was, more than anything, the references to the other boys (like those are just their actual weapons on the chained side) that Cover couldn’t ignore.
wouldn’t it just be that she needed cover’s permission to sell merch like even if she is the original artist she needs to clear it with cover first since they technically own the ip not her
at the time she released it, he actually wasn’t aware of her unofficial daki (I think somebody told him on stream) which was part of the problem I think. if it didn’t clear him then it probably also didn’t clear management, so I think they opted to do a fresh design where everyone got to have input
I can see that, it definitely has more of a sensual, put-together feel. I feel like his valentines standee was the perfect ikemen Bettel that still retains his personality (completely missing the cup on his pour). I think the annoyed-looking bettelion is the perfect addition that pulls it together but I can understand it doesn’t exactly scream “Gavis Bettel.”
I like the side where he was chained up a bit more than this one definitely but I feel like i’m the only who really disliked the maid side because it definitely didn’t feel bettel to me. If we combined the chained and robe with thigh side it would be perfect to me
Yeah it doesn’t give off much character with the very simple plain design and white color scheme that dominates the theme. The only iconic “Bettel” things that shine through are his face, hair, and boots. I’m pretty sure Bettel himself had major input in the design since he did mention wanting it to look a certain way.
