Is it hard to be a Bettelion when I’m not thirsty for him nor I don’t like any BFE contents? He has a firm line against any BFE or fanservicey stuffs but the fandom seems to be completely opposite from his direction so I’m uncomfortable to engage in any Bettelion fan space
i feel like we have this discussion every week. he definitely doesn’t have a “firm line” against fanservice, he does it constantly. he did a whole stream for a dakimakura reveal complete with a voice pack, thirsts over horny fanart of himself on twitter, even does some fujobait (obviously joking/not serious but always enough to fuel it). he knows exactly what this does for his fans and if he didn’t like it he wouldn’t lean into it at all. in chat bettelion are actually pretty tame and mostly only go wild when it’s appropriate. a lot of bettelion (esp the loud ones) tend to be horny on their social media accounts but you don’t have to interact with them, and you can even block them if you don’t like them. if you wanna see some more non-horny bettelion, be the change you wanna see in the world and make your own space. candidly reach out and start a sfw discord or twitter account. even if it’s not popular and only 5 people join, that’s 5 new potential friends with a common interest. stop blaming your alienation on how other people engage in their fandom. bettelion does have a problem with drama and cliques but it’s on you to be an adult and not engage with stuff and people you dislike.
i definitely agree that being the change or keeping away from the hornies is the most effective solution here, but i really think bettel is fairly neutral towards his horniest fans and neither encourages nor discourages them most of the time. like, he’s never really set any boundaries about it, but he’s also very self conscious and suffers heavily from impostor syndrome so it’s not like he tries particularly hard to feed into it either
